Public display of affection by the students, especially inside school campus need to be discouraged.

Such behaviour by students can be banned….and they can be advised suitably…..but expelling appears more strict/harsh in enforcing discipline....

Of course, Educational Institutions are not Parks, Beach, etc and hence students need to avoid inappropriate public display of affection.

Exploring one's sexuality is a vital part of growing up and dictating that teens should only think about algebra all day long is foolish and impractical.

Two high school students from Kerala have been dismissed from their educational institution for exchanging a hug. Although the expulsion happened five months ago, it is only now that the news has reached the general public.

After the school reprimanded the two teenagers for the hug, the teachers went one step ahead and did the online version of the Peeping Tom. She procured pictures from a private Instagram account that supposedly shows the two of them sharing a certain level of intimacy. All hell broke loose, the boy was declared to be a "bull in heat", the girl a slut and the two of them were thrown out of the school.

Well done, Sherlock. Not.

Anyone would think the young people had planted a bomb on campus, started a riot or displayed some other kind of aberrant behaviour that adversely affected the lives of people around them. All that they did was, in fact, behave like teenagers do. Yes, people do fall in love and/or explore their sexuality before they get married and receive social sanction to do so. And no, people do not develop sexual feelings precisely on the day of their wedding.

Shashi Tharoor Thrashed The Kerala School For Throwing Out A Class 12 Girl And Boy Just For Hugging Each other

………………

We’ll soon enter the year 2018, but it looks that people are going forward in time just physically but not mentally. A school in Kerala has expelled a girl and boy studying in class 12 just because they hugged each other in the school premise. The school went a little forward and hacked the students’ Instagram profile to stalk their picture. They further called their pictures “objectionable” and proved them guilty in the court as well.

[h=3]WTF! RIGHT?[/h]Even after 71 years of independence, we still live in a society like this where two minors are dragged to court just for hugging each other. According to Indian Express, St Thomas Central School in Kerala expelled two of their students because the girl and the boy hugged each other in front of other students. The guy hugged the girl during an arts festival held in the school on August 21 this year, after her impressive singing. The teacher caught them doing this and immediately took them to the higher authorities and got them suspended temporarily even after apologizing.

When the boy petitioned the child rights commission stating the school is guilty of hacking his Instagram account, the school dragged them to the Kerala high court and won the case.

[h=3]STATING THAT WHATEVER THE SCHOOL DID WAS NOT UNFAIR AND WAS JUST TO MAINTAIN THE REPUTATION OF THE SCHOOL, THE BENCH OF JUSTICE SHAJI P CHALY SAID:[/h]
“I find that various photographs were posted on Instagram in various compromising positions, and if it had the effect of publicity, the issue hampers the reputation of the school.”
[h=3]THIS TRAUMATIZING NEWS BLEW EVEN SHASHI THAROOR’S MIND. CONDEMNING THE ACT BY THE SCHOOL, THAROOR THRASHED THE AUTHORITIES IN HIS TWEET.[/h]
