why should we not eat Soraikkai

We have been using Louki /Ghia (Hindi names of Soraikkai)) to make delicious sabji...We take it along with Roti... Very good for diabetics..I do not know the reason why we desisted eating earlier...Even Pudina was not used at my grand parents home..Same with water melon or mushroom...I think no one knew the benefits of these..Once people came to know the benefits people have started using these
