hi

i saw a shiva temple at Thiruvallur......when i was going to Thirupati via thiruvallur/Thiruttani...but sri veera raghava perumal kovil

famous temple...

The Shiva temple of Thiruvallur is located just behind the Veeraraghava Perumal Temple.

The deity here is called Mal-Vinai-Theertha-Easwarar (Now shortened as just Theertheswarar). It is believed that Lord Veeraraghava worshipped this Shiva to get rid of the sin of killing Madhu & Kaitapa.

The temple is on the banks of the Hrudhapanashini Theertham and hence the name Theertheswarar is also relevant. I have heard people say that earlier when the Pond was full, the water usually entered the Garbha Griham of the temple.
