Following in the footsteps of fellow messenger apps like Telegram, WeChat and Viber, WhatsApp is getting closer to rolling out its ‘Delete for everyone’ feature, which lets you wipe out messages you sent by mistake before your contact has had a chance to read them.

The company has finally begun testing the functionality on Android and iOS devices, serial WhatsApp leaker WABetaInfo reports. According to the insider, the dedicated recall server is now working and successfully deleting messages.

Still, most users still won’t have access to the feature and will likely have to wait until the Facebook-owned messenger eventually enables it remotely for everyone.



What is particularly nifty about this feature is that, according to screenshots obtained by WABetaInfo, recalled texts will also disappear from the Notification Center – both on Android and iOS gadgets

This is very essential feature and will save many from embarassing situation. Some time back I faced one such situation. I wanted to write Additional Secretary and in short I wrote Addl. Secy. The auto correction feature in phone made it Addl. Sexy and without noticing it I pressed the send button. I had to do a bit of explanation to get out of the situation.. LOL...

It was even worse!. The recipient was of course Male, but the message was a congragulatory message for his wife who got posted as Additional Secratary in some department!! The intented message was "congratulations to ...... for new assignment as Additional Secretary", but ultimately ended up like that. Since the couple were good friends of mine, the explanation part was not difficult. They had a big laugh.. The story didn't end there. Some times later they had arranged some Puja at their house. I was invited to take part and went along with my wife. The "hosts" were in traditional Marwadi attire due the the requirement for the function, and my gentleman friend asked me in front of my wife, whether I still find his wife sexy in the traditional attire?!!! and went on to laugh... more explanation awaited me to set my own house in order!

I am reminded of Raghy Sir, who used to 'enjoy' viewing his better-half, clad in traditional madisAr, set to low-hip!! :D
