During Election, it is customary for the political party leaders to announce tall promises

Later, when after assuming power, they may forget the promises made or seek time.

    But will the voters forget....?

    This applies to all Parties.

Chennai Metro To Launch Electric Bike Service, Charging Points At Metro Stations

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is looking at setting up electric vehicle (EV) charging points at four of its stations – St Thomas Mount, Koyambedu, Alandur and Thirumangalam – and also offer electric bike (e-bike rentals) outside the stations, reports The New Indian Express. The e-bike system is a keyless one that works using a mobile app and a one-time password (OTP), similar to the ones in Bengaluru.

The move to offer charging points and e-bikes comes in the wake of the Centre’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP). CMRL will partner with the Power Grid Corporation of India to provide the charging points.

Age is not a barrier to gain knowledge. Here is a 96 year young student

Not too old for school:Kerala's 96-yr-old student will warm your heart

Karthyayini Amma will enter Class 4 next year and plans to study till Class 10 under a government scheme in the south Indian state of Kerala.

Muttom in Cheppad village is no different from the hundreds of other verdant settlements that can be found by the backwaters of Alappuzha. About an hour’s drive from Aleppy town, it is a settlement that falls under the Cheppad Grama Pachayat. However, a recent turn of events that involves a particular enrolment in the state government’s literacy drive has made Muttom the talk of town. Three months ago, 96-year-old Karthyayini Amma was enrolled in the district’s literacy mission programme, making her the oldest student in the whole of Alappuzha, and perhaps even the state.

“It was during one of the surveys done for the state’s drive to achieve 100% literacy that lead to Karthyayini Amma being identified,” said Ullas Kumar, the bespectacled, serious-looking secretary of the Cheppad Grama Panchay

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tamil Nadu: Centre choses Madurai for AIIMS

MADURAI: The ministry of health and family welfare is understood to have chosen Thoppur in Madurai as the location for the proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This was communicated to state revenue minister R B Udayakumar by the chairman of Pradhan Mantri Swathya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), Sanjay Roy, here on Tuesday.

According to the communique, Thoppur has bagged the highest marks among the five places in Tamil Nadu shortlisted for setting up the prestigious institute. The decision is also subject to the realisation of five conditions including four-lane connectivity from the national highway, 20MVA power supply from two different feeders, adequate water supply, handover of land and shifting of transformer. The fifth condition is execution of an agreement with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, apparently on a pipeline passing through the site.
