T.Janakiraman is the author of this novel on community activity of building a temple in a village.

Bhoovarahan returns to his native village to build a temple.

Chengamma a good woman and an able organiser enthusiastically tries to help the temple building. She is married to ganesan an ordinary person.

Velu ,another person in the village who has a hang up about chengamma thinks bhoovarahan and the village does not deserve to be helped by chengamma whom

he considers to be a noble woman

He keeps running down bhoovarahan and tries blocking the temple building activity.

Chengamma realises that velu is obsessed with her and sends for him.

She confronts him and he embraces her indicating his love for her and he leaves the village leaving a letter for her describing his obsession and how the

embrace has freed him.[ Can any TJ novel be without this type of plot?]

The novel also introduces Anasuya , a feminist .

T J was far ahead of his times.

His writings were very controversial. His other works Mohamull made into a film and Amma vandal are talked about often.

    I like his writing.
