Shifting of Samadhi of a Sannyasi

Focusing on ritualistic aspects of how to dispose a Sannyasi's body or where a samadhi is located is that of a Samsari's delusion.

A sannyasi by the very definition of the word has given up all rituals including fire rituals. Such a person has ritualistically renounced the body in the final rite before taking up the lifestyle. Because all fire rituals are given up, a Sannyasi is not cremated but just buried. Also the body is not associated with any 'person' though samsaris all around may not think so. There cannot be any authentic rituals for sannyasis because they are not bound by them.

There is a lot of misunderstanding about Sannyasis and hence using B.Gita as the guide let us understand various kinds of Sannyasi we find in the world.

In actuality there are several types of Sannyasis who are actually samsari's in their behaviour.

1. Give up duties or rather run away from duties , debts and obligations - such sannyasi are actually samsaris

2. Take up Sannyasi as a lifestyle. In B. Gita, Sri Krishna describes only two life styles - life of Karma/duty and life of sannyasi devoted to knowledge (with no Karmas prescribed for them). This only denotes lifestyles and a person does not have to be a sannyasi by the definition of the word. Such people may be samsaris in the clothing of a Sannyasi. Unfortunately this is the most common type of Sannyasis we find in the world.

3. Give up fruits of all actions - This so called Phala Thyaga is the first transformational aspect of a true Sannyasi. Such a person could be living in the world among samsaris or have taken formal Sannyasi lifestyle.

4. Do all Karmas as offering to Isvara and hence the fruits of the Karma are accepted without question. Sarva Karma Sannyasi could be living in the world of samsara or could have taken the formal lifestyle of Sannyasi

5. Give up the sense of doership in the fire of knowledge. Such a person is a true Sannyasi regardless of the lifestyle they have chosen.

For true Sannyasis which include category 3 to 5 and if they have taken formal sannyasi lifestyle, once their body is buried one can assume that it is all merged with Hiranya Garbha and there is no meaning to moving a Samadhi in space or time.

If someone comes up with Vedic rituals around this they do not understand what the word Sannyasi means.
