When to perform mahalaya tharpanam in 2016

IAM IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY WHERE THERE ARE NO GURUKKALS OR VADHYARS TO PERFORM THE MAHALAYA THARPANAM AND I HAVE TO DO ALONE WITH THE HELP OF BOOKS AND THE HELP I GET FROM THE FORUM OF TAMIL BRAHMINS. MY FATHER EXPIRED IN AUG 2002 ( MONTH OF ADI IN PRATHAMA THITHI AFTER POURNAMI). PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHETHER I CAN DO MAHALAYA THARPANAM ON THE SAME THITHI AFTER POURNAMI IN SEP, 2016 OR ON ASHTAMI THITHI OR MAHALAYA BHARANI NAKSHATRA. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. PLEASE INFORM ME WHEN MAHALAYAM DATE BEGINS AND ENDS.PRANAM TO ALL.

mahalaya paksham starts from 17th september and ends on 30th september 2016. you can do at your convenience on any one day 20th or 23rd or 28th.
