Flight PK-651 took off from Islamabad's Benazir International Airport.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – While hundreds of people are being denied reservations on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights amid PIA employees’ protest against privatisation of the national flag carrier, adomestic flight landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore with only three passengers onboard, Dunya News reported.
As per details, there were only three passengers onboard when flight PK-651 took off from Islamabad’s Benazir International Airport for Lahore.
On the other hand, PIA’s financial situation has worsened as the national flag carrier requires Rs 1.10 billion to pay workers’ salaries and Rs 3 billion for fuel and other expenses.
Reportedly, PIA has suffered Rs 2.70 billion loss due to employees’ strike against privatisation.
All of Pakistan International Airlines foreign and domestic flights were suspended last week with thousands of passengers, including Pakistani domestic workers trying to fly to the Middle East, stranded at Karachi s international airport and other key hubs.
Today, the sit-in outside PIA’s Karachi Head Office continues despite Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s warning the demonstration was illegal and those taking part could face up to a year in prison under a law that restricts union activity in state-administered sectors.
On the other hand, PIA offices in several cities including Faisalabad and Multan were reopened.
