Am I right Vikrama ji???

Rain or shine, we do complain.

oh! she is all in my imagination
so how can you locate her?

sinking seaside cities
islands under water
snowless arctic tundra
'i am not responsible for this' cried varuna bhagavan
for this global warming
all this is the work of the damn humans !

Namassadhasae.

Seems this year India gets severe rain
In this website also severe rain in the forest of poets
I am no poet; Not even a good rasikan
All due to the encouragement got in this rain of poems.

I created dolls and made them to live as I wish. I made it beautiful with new dress. the whole day was wasted in maintenance of these dolls and its boring for me now. What to do now to destroy these dolls? Shall I place it under soil, or immerse it in water, or make it dry under sun??? There is nothing to worry. There are lot of clay and I will create dolls tomorrow to play.

Dear Sri KRS,
while pleading for a literature section, I had made a specific request that translation may not be insisted upon. Now you make it mandatory on behalf of non-Tamil knowing members. I plead my inability to subscribe to this thread any more. Even transliteration is boring and it dampens creativity.

Namassadhasae.

I like to recall the posting made, suggesting for a separate Literature section for posting pieces of creativity, pre-dominantly in Tamizh,by Shri Vikramaji

It is an 'avasthai' to transliterate, which will test the patience of the author. Creativity is a different matter and stipulations and conditioning will not yield the desired result.

It is once more suggested that this Literature section is allotted for Tamil reading members. Wherever possible, the author may, either in the caption portion or at the end, add few lines of narration, which may not be made as mandatory, but optional. No doubt, the author may also get more readership to his creativity.

Shri Vikramaji's postings in this Literature Section are found enjoyable and I feel continuance of this section will add merit to this website and attract persons with creative interest.

All threads in this website speak English only, basically. If it is felt that we have authors and readers for Literature Section in English, a separate section for English also may be allotted.

Let the higher-ups in this forum decide pls!

Yes. While translating the meaning in english, the "bhava" has been totally lost. It also turns to be dual work for us to post. Even the readers will lost their enthu while reading it in english, as in english, that is not a poem (they will be mere lines of translation). Just consider these things moderators.

Pranams

Once posted in a translated version, it will belittle the original too. The mastery of the creator itself will be put to doubt.

"Poyum, poyum ivanaiya oru padaippali endru iththanai nalum enni kondirundhom?" ennum kelvi ellorudaiya manadhilum ezhuma, illaiya?

Please read this.

There are 3 classes of Tamil Brahmins.

1. Tamil only knowing Tamil Brahmins.
2. Tamil not knowing Tamil Brahmins.
3. Both Tamil and English knowing Tamil Brahmins.

The posts will affect only the Class No. 2. They may not consitute, in my humble opinion, more than 12%. Further, all other posts being only in English, they may not complain.

Moreover, if at least in Literature Section, Tamil posts are allowed, Tamil only knowing Tamil Brahmins will come forward to join the forum in larger numbers, if they find something suiting their taste, understanding, interest and ideologies.

Do we possess an inner fear that once Tamil posts are freely allowed, the forum itself may be hijacked by the Class 1, mentioned above?

Why can't we put this to vote, so as to elicit the opinions of the majority of the members in clear cut terms?

I repeat the words of KRS. Let us learn to be more inclusive, respecting the sentiments of everyone - but not all persons in every aspect.

Please read the above sentence once more to understand its correct meaning.

Regards,
pannvalan

Namassadhasae.

Any development? Any decision taken - whether or not to continue this Literature column exclusively in Tamil or making it optional to give the posting in transliterated form or the status-quo ante to be followed?

Dear All,
It is more than a month since I requested the moderators not to insist on Tamil translation/transliteration for original compositions. Since then, it seems, the moderators have quit and the responsibility of moderating has fallen on all of us, members. A few members have supported my plea and none is against. So I take it to mean that we can write in Tamil without translation/ transliteration in this thread. So here is my poem. Hope nobody has any objection.

Pranams
