that person is not following the VaishNava niyamams after SamasrayaNam/Pancha Samskaaram ? There are not much niyamams for this except for giving up onions/garlic/nonn-veg items/allcoholic drinks. Atleast these if a person is not able to uphold, will it affect the person alone/ does the acharya perform prayaschittam for giving mantropadesam to these people from time to time?

When you are in the high seas helless and sinking, a life line is thrown at you. You grab it and try to reach safety. Suppose you let go the life line prefering the turbulent waters, it is your and only your mistake. The man who came to help you would just be sad that you have chosen otherwise.

If you try to understand the logic behind giving up onions, non veg food etc., you will see there are indeed niyams but simple ones. If you understand the meaning of the mantram then you will see the logic of the mantropadesam too.

Goodwishes.

Thanks Vaagmi but that did not answer the question in the least, the question was more like would the Acharya has to do prayischittam or the whole sole mistake lies on the uneligible fool who received mantropadesam...

My understanding is this:

The acharya will have to do prayaschittam only if his upadesam had resulted in the sishya going against his teachings. This is very rare. As long as the sishya does not indulge in going against what is good in the Acharya's teaching, there is nothing that needs repair. So Acharya need not do any prayaschittam. The mistake will be just that of the sishya and he will own responsibility for that.

As long as:

Akrityanaancha karanam or krityanam varjanam

are not there in a sishya's behaviour post upadesam, teacher goes without blemishes.

Thanks :)

The Acharya will not do prayaschittam unless the individual feels it is necessary for going against the Acharya's command. Generally, seeking the Acharya's pardon and asking for advice on how to maintain such regulatory principles will refine the student. If nothing is done, the prapatti is moot.
