"India doesn't need more rules to protect women, we need more Meenakshi Ammas." So goes a viral Facebook video that showcases a woman in a tightly-knotted sari fighting a man with a wooden stick.
The woman, identified as one Meenakshi from the Vatakara town in Kerala, is 76 years old and teaches Kalaripayattu, the legendary traditional martial art form practiced in Kerala.

The video, which was posted on a webpage called 'India Arising' on 16 June, has been viewed over a million times and garnered almost 9,000 'likes'.
According to NDTV, Meenakshi is an expert in Kalaripayattu and is engaged in a duel with one of her students in the video.
Leaping in an agile manner, deftly swinging her stick and stopping attacks from her (clearly) younger opponent, Meenakshi's speed draws rounds of applause from the watching townspeople.
