Namaskaram to all elder members of this forum and hello to others.
I just wish to know more about Hinduism especially Hindu Philosophy. Also I would like to know about my sect which believes in orthodox vegetarian food habits. Moreover we traditionally follow a lot of Vedic rituals like Yagnopaveetham, wearing panchakacham by married men and madisar by women either in Smartha way or Sri Vaishnavite way, etc. There are 64 Gothrams named after Maharishis like Gowthama (my Gothram), Bharadwaja, Koushika, Koundinya, Kapila, Marichi and so on. Our suthram is Aashvalayana. Similarly Apasthamba, Vaikhanasa, Bodhayana etc., suthrams are also mentioned as per the Gothra. My specific query is whether we are recognized as brahmins though we have all these brahminical practices. My brother and I will be grateful and happy if any body could let us know about the origin of Seer Karuneegar, that is by profession maintenance of village accounts and teaching.
