The original by A.M. Rajah & P. Susheela is an ever green song mellifluously rendered. I remember this song being used in our School annual day celebrations in the early 70's

I think the ragam looks like sAma - According to some netizens too

Smt. Charultha Mani mentions the following
‘Brindavanamum Nandakumaranum’ (originally in Telugu ‘Brindavanamadi Andaridi’ ) fromMissiamma sung by A.M. Raja and P. Susheela (music by S. Rajeswara Rao), is based on this scale, but an occasional gandhara and nishada peep into a few phrases suggesting Arabhi. The interlude music in this piece is completely Suddha Saveri.

My wife (who is more knowledgeable) thinks the song is in Arabhi.

Well we are in a சங்கடமான சங்கீத issue - When I listen to a song and unable to decipher the Raga notation I call it கழுத காம்பாேதி ஜன்யம் ஹரி காம்பாேதி In this song I smelt a shade of சாமா Was happy when you confirmed !

But My wife - என் மனைவி (who is more knowledgeable) thinks the song is in Arabhi. makes the situation full of சங்கடம் bringing in Arahi and Sudha Saveri!

I am for ஆமா for சாமா may be on a சவாரி along with சாவேரி !

என்joy this song from ' என்மனைவி' ' released in 1942 ? Serukalthur சாமா on சங்கடமான சமயல் and opting for சங்கீதம் instead! I am rushing back to Kitchen for சமையல்! unlike சாமா!!
