    Unconventional indeed !

I checked with my wife and she tells me that her mother used to mix ulundu in paruppu vadai. Apparently they have many variations. Must try it out :P

There is a dhal by name 'pattANi paruppu', which when used instead of kadalai paruppu, gives yummy crispy vadais.

The crispness is retained for many hours, We get this variety in Madurai. Have not tried in Sing. Chennai, yet.

"vadai paruppu" is the Vattaana of north india after removal of outer covering and drying of the pods. Usually we use Thuvaramparuppu. Both are gas producing so one has to limit one's intake according his/her gas-producing tendency and related illnesses, if any.

Use of uulundu or payattam paruppu is supposed to mellow down the vadais but, in practice the vadas become tasteless once they get cool enough. You have to eat them hot!

Oh! From taste of kozhambu to weather in Boston!

Lot of yesterday. It was only one inch on 3rd of April but about five inches yesterday.

A new thought flashed in my mind.

When animals are kept where humans live, they are caged - zoo!
But, when we go on a safari, we are caged in a vehicle.

Similarly, when the weather is too hot, we use the A.C to bring down the temperature.

Sravna Sir can bring only one degree down and it is not enough.
But when the whole town turns as a freezer, we need the heater in our sweet homes.

    Real story time:

I wished to see snow fall in 2011 but had to leave in November first week.

Lo and behold!! There was a snowfall on 28th October.

Last year, we wanted to visit from November onward but were advised NOT to come during winter.

Good in one more way.. we could be at home when the deluge happened and messed up our sweet home!

With no hope of seeing snowfall, we landed in Boston on 22nd March. But, see! we get snowfalls in April.

One more expected this week end!

Why??? God is fulfilling my wishes!
