At the end of third week of release, I happened to see this movie of Imtiaz Ali.Deepika Padukone -Ranbir kapoor starrer.

Not the run of the mill story. It is about monotonous life and feelings of a youngster in corporate world who ends up meeting a girl on a holiday in corsica, france

Both hide their background and decide to enjoy their holiday together there under assumed names and they relate to each other well.

On return to india, their real life roles on chance meeting again in india make them long for the roles they assumed to themselves in corsica.

There is a flash back of the the heros life when he is shown as a fellow liking theatre with no desire to study maths and engg which his father has pushed him

into besides he becoming a product manager in a company where he has to pay lip service to his boss and obey his diktats.

When the girl tells him that she loved the guy he was in corsica and not the product manager he is in actual life, he cracks up and finally ends up returning to

theatre as his profession which he loved to do as a youngster and bonds with the girl again.

A complicated plot with flash backs cutting to various periods of his life and places like calcutta, simla, delhi, japan,

the plus points is the chemistry between the lead actors on screen, A R Rehman music, beautiful photography at corsica.

Definitely not a film for the masses.

Some youngsters in IT and MNCs and foreign indians might like it.

It is a good escapist fare for others who are caught up in miseries of day to day living.

Good summary Krish ji. Sound like quite a fantasy though and far removed from reality.

In real life girls are not so easy to pick up, and they would rather net a MNC product manager than a theatre artist.

When youngsters earn enough to take care off their future needs, then many get into this mental frame of finding escape routes.

Most middle class brahmins got into engineering in sixties and later , got on IT and MBA band wagons for economic reasons only to realise very late that it was more of

a compulsion. Many went /are going through life hating themselves for what they have to do.

Many try jumping off to find refuge in social causes or floating their own venture to make a difference in lives of people around them.

These may not become stage artists but they feel bad that their lives have been damaged .

Most try to find meaning in life and go on a self discovery cycle and some become drop outs also.

Many reinvent themselves to find satisfaction in other things.

I know of many who tried to make the transformation from IT profession to socially committed people

Many in an IT major in india made lakhs in employee stock options suddenly in late nineties and they started searching for causes to donate money .

Some dropped out to work for social causes to find meaning in living.

I know marriages which break up due to one ambitiously chasing money goals in their profession based on employers preferance and ignoring wife and children

realising late they really neither care for their work or the profession they have been pushed into by their ambitious parents.

Many turn alcoholics and go on their trips in fantasy world to forget what they do for their living.

Some turn wise and escape before it is too late but many it is a lonely life of misery and drudgery with big money and bottomless pit of artificial living style they are

forced to maintain
