Here is an alternate view of Amma's rule. Why is it so difficult to build these school buildings, when funds are freely available. Is all this talk of great administration just an eye wash?

vikatan articlel

here are some excerpts..

Sir,

Bold step by Vikatan publishing such an article listing out the misrule, corruption, mismanagement, inaction, etc of ruling Government with facts and figures.

We have a Delhi based honourable member who has just certified in another thread that Tamil Nadu has an
excellent Government. I don’t know what does the terms ‘Excellent’ mean to him. Probably excellent in looting...................etc

Such members should go through this article several times to grasp the facts.

We too have some blind followers of such political parties. May be due to their mindset of loyalty, obedience and personal benefit.

What is the alternative to the ruling party..Do not push the state to the most corrupt party which promotes only MuKa family, anti brahminism, anti Hinduism for which it is trying to redeem its sins with a Ramanujar serial and temple visits...

Some with limited exposure to india as a whole, do not have an idea of how much bad anything could become. Only after the rains , they are getting the first taste of

something not good. It could have got really worse with a more callous response than what many experienced. All actions of the past by both ruling parties have

returned to haunt the ruling class. Why permits was granted to build flats in low lying areas to builders , why lakes were not silted , weather warnings ignored or

quick action teams put in place in time can keep getting discussed in hindsight. It is only a criticism and blame game between political parties with member of affected

public joining in.Somehow , the public thinks the state should take care of them to solve all issues facing them and criticize the state at the slightest pretext. They do

not have the concept of self help when faced with a situation. People living on higher ground in chennai as far as I know did nothing much to help others in distress.

How many opened their doors to suffering people ?We can learn from sikhs how they help others in crisis during rains , earthquakes and other calamities. Their langars

are not limited to serving distressed from other communities. Whether it was rains in mumbai or eartquake in uttarakhand they were there.

The topic is about not utilizing the funds allotted by the Govt. of India which is meant for maintenance of school buildings.

There are schools functioning in buildings which are suffering with poor maintenance, without proper toilet, proper roofing, etc etc

One member who has absolutely no idea and may be absolutely ‘nil’ exposure to Tamil Nadu comes here and to write typical blah blah, which is his known M.O.

His reply reveals that he has not even gone through the OP thoroughly.

A rich deserving posting to be ignored as it does not touch the topic anywhere.

Delhi govt has taken upon itself the job of reforming the education system in delhi starting with the admission process -doing away with capitation fees, interviews for

nursery for children or adults ,ensuring admission of EWS section in schools in full , streamlining payment to teachers , improving the school buildings and facilities in

govt schools, ensuring attendance of teachers and monitoring the teachers . Delhi parents are likely to be far happier than their counter parts elsewhere.

Even chennai schools are far better than many states. Chennai has earned the name of educational hub due to its ability to reach education to the poorest of the poor.

Schemes like midday meal is successful only in tamilnadu and brought the poor to schools. It could be better though. It is senseless to be critical of anything that goes

on by some seniors. Most having nothing to show at the end of life spend their time only criticizing everything around them to the point of utter disgust

VGanesh Ji,

To sustain democratic nature of the country, one should function as a ‘watchdog’ and raise voice whenever there is lapse noticed on the part of the ruling Government by the opposition especially against misrule, inaction, excesses, unlawful acts, etc. The opposition should hold the ruling Government responsible and accountable whenever there is lack of planning, execution, etc are noticed. One is supposed to raise his voice if any undemocratic acts take place and cannot remain as a silent spectator.

And it is a different issue as to what is the alternative.

Shri Bala,

Agree that we have to highlight the pitfalls of the Government...A strong right wing party like BJP is the need of the hour in TN...Not sure when my dreams will materialize!

If Bjp ties up with EBC or Dalits also in tamilnadu , These groups will regret it again as in bihar.

Whatever be the dispensation , the dalits and adidravida groups have no real saviours.

They will continue to be disadvantaged groups.

Rightwing bjp and brahmins are unlikely to do well . The justice party off shoots are fully entrenched as they have a history of fighting successfully the higher castes

No choice. Tamil nadu has to choose the lesser of the two evils!

If building alone is to be constructed, it would not be a "profitable venture " for the decision making persons.

Meanwhile let us wait for the SC judgement on JJ's DA case.

Waiting for what?

In case the verdict comes in favour of JJ & co,, then they could not be stopped and reined by any force in future. It is a renewal of license for them to loot.

If the verdict goes against JJ, the DMK would get a fresh lease of life to loot the State again for their turn;

The victim could be the
ignorant public who would get deceived In either case,

The public in TN have not been given a choice other than these 2 kazhagams...So who is going to create a new alternative?

Even in construction contract there are lot of avenues to loot. It is not known why this source of looting was not availed so far!!!

Pray that let the allocating as well as the executing authorities have 'Hand in glove' and do something useful!!
