A series of attacks targeting young concert-goers, soccer fans and Parisians enjoying a Friday night out at popular nightspots killed nearly 120 people in the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II. President Francois Hollande condemned it as terrorism and pledged that France would stand firm against its foes. The worst carnage was at a concert hall hosting an American rock band, where scores of people were held hostage and attackers ended the standoff by detonating explosive belts.
Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins said as many as five attackers were killed, though it was not clear how many there were altogether and how many, if any, were still at large. Authorities said the death toll could exceed 120 for at least six sites, including the national stadium and a tight circle of popular nightspots.
The attack unfolded with two suicide bombings and an explosion outside the national stadium during a soccer match between the French and German national teams. Within minutes, according to Paris police chief Michel Cadot, another group of attackers sprayed cafes outside the concert hall with machine gunfire, then stormed inside and opened fire on the panicked audience. As police closed in, they detonated explosive belts, killing themselves.
In addition to the deaths at the concert hall, dozens were killed in an attack on a restaurant in the 10th arrondissement and several other establishments crowded on a Friday night, police said. Authorities said at least three people died when the bombs went off outside the soccer stadium.

Don't be so impatient! The OP has just come and you want reactions even before that! LOL

While France has a disturbing social mixture, and the present killings are definitely to be condemned, we should also find out whether the killers were french citizens or from neighbouring countries which have admitted large numbers of asylum seekers from Syria, etc., within which it was always suspected that ISIS terrorists have also spread out into Europe. Hence, secularism is not the culprit but the terrorism of global ramifications; and it may well impinge on a 100% hindutwa backed India as well, any time!

Where ever it happened, who ever did it .... terrorism is a terrorism; It is condemnable by all the sensible human beings.

This must also be the fault of Modi and the RSS/VHP.

The Paris terror strike on Friday night bears a striking resemblance to the Mumbai attacks of November 26, 2008. Both targeted popular eating joints and restaurants, and took people hostage.

In Paris, seven terrorists blew themselves up and security forces killed another — all suspected to be from the Islamic State Ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from Pakistan carried out the Mumbai attack, leaving 166 people dead and 291 injured. While nine of them were killed, one was captured alive.

The Paris attackers too were armed with AK-47s, and both strikes took place during late evening. The terrorists stormed into popular eating joints and sprayed bullets indiscriminately at the diners.

Several men and women were taken hostage at the Bataclan concert hall where an American band, Eagles of Death Metal, was performing. French security personnel stormed into the hall. While three gunmen blew themselves up, the third was shot dead. In Mumbai, the terrorists took several guests hostage at the Taj Mahal Palace and the nearby Trident Oberoi, and commandoes carried out a long operation to neutralise them.

Two of the suicide bombers who caused carnage in the Paris massacre are thought to have sneaked into France by posing as refugees from Syria.
The disclosure, which came amid claims of French intelligence failures, inevitably raised new security concerns about Europe’s borders.
Police said the two men, who arrived in Greece last month, were among seven attackers, one as young as 15.

One of the attackers was last night named by French media as Mostefai Ismaël Omar, 29, from Courcouronnes, in Essonne.

Serbian media last night reported that one of the terrorists was named as Ahmed Almuhamed. The newspaper, Blic, said that 25-year-old Almuhamed arrived in Europe on the Greek island of Leros on October 3 on his way to Paris.

At least three incidents of attacks on elderly Brahmins which involved the forcible removal of their poonal (sacred thread) have been reported in Chennai in the last two days.

After an attack on a Mylapore priest on Monday, two other attacks were reported in Triplicane and T Nagar. “They beat him up and threw away his poonal,” said Mangalana Gurukka, an actor, who complained to the police after a group of ten to twelve people beat up his 78 year old father, Vishwanathan Gurukka. “He was returning from the temple when they surrounded him and him . Since it was dark he couldn’t see,” said Gurukkal.“They kept yelling ‘Periyar Vazhaga’,” he said explaining that incident had occurred on Monday evening.

However, separate attacks on Brahmins continued on Tuesday allegedly conducted by members of the Dravida Viduthalai Kazhagam, of which six are said to be in police custody.

If the sacred thread of a Brahmin is cut in a public place by some scoundrels, who is to be blamed? Only Brahmins themselves who are living without unity.
Imagine what will happen the next day if the turban of a Sardarji or the hat of a Muslim is seized in public place by any scoundrel.
But Brahmins analyse and discuss on the next day whether he is a Shaivaite or Vaishnavite.
If the victim is a Shaivaite, Vaishnavites laugh at; If the victim is a Vaishnavite, Shaivaites laugh at.
Is it not a public shame to the entire community of Brahmins?

Yesmohan Ji,

This is in reply to Sri Sangom Ji's posting wherein he has alleged that ours is a 100% Hindutva back India. But the ground reality is quite different.

Here at Tamil Nadu, which is also part of India, Hindus are brutally attacked, hacked to death.

I just cited few attacks on Brahmins who are all also Hindus.

But the list is a lengthy one.

One Mr.Ramesh, a Chartered Accountant and State General Secretary of BJP at Tamil Nadu
was hacked to death and one S. Vellaiyappan, an activist and Tamil Nadu State Secretary of the Hindu Munnani was murdered at Vellore.

They are all Hindus……And someone comes here to say that ours is 100% Hindutva backed country, and if that is the real case, why Hindus are attacked?

P.S: As for unity among Brahmins, that is totally a different subject and can be discussed in a separate thread.

Attacks on Brahmins were held in sometime in April this year.

Mr. Ramesh of BJP and Mr. S. Vellaiyappan of Hindu Munnani were killed in 2013.

Hindus are being attacked and killed in other States also and ours is a Hindu majority country. This is the ground reality.

Two days after the deadly coordinated terrorist attacks on Paris left at least 129 people dead and 352 injured, officials have begun to put together a picture of those responsible, and the arrests being made across Europe related to the attacks as well as the identity of those responsible are slowly being made public.



France has been in an official state of mourning since the attacks, with the Eiffel Tower going dark and President Francois Hollande vowing that France would wage "merciless" war on the Islamic State, which claimed responsibility for the mayhem, as investigators raced to track down their accomplices and uncovered possible links to networks in Belgium, Germany and Syria.


A U.S. law enforcement source told CBS News senior investigative producer Pat Milton there were eight attackers, seven of whom are dead, with one still at-large. The source said the possible identifies of three of the deceased terrorist suspects are: Ahmad al-Mohammad, born 1990, and from Enid Syria; Ismail Mostefai, whose father Mohammad Mostesari is a French citizen; and Yousef Salahel, born 1988 in Egypt.


The source said the possible identity of the terrorist suspect at large is Salah Abdeslam. He apparently rented the car with Belgium tags that has become a focus of the investigation.

Very true.

We are divided linguistically, regionally and caste-wise which are all the advantage for the other groups.

One should notice the way media covering Paris attack.

Everybody condemn the attack and extending their full support to fight terrorism.

And there is no much of opposition and bad mouthing by the opposition parties.

No one see dead bodies or bloody scenes.

No Government bashing, passing sarcastic comments and absolutely no show of presstitute.

Absolute exhibition of strength of democracy.

Will our media learn such good ethics, discipline, reporting with all fairness, rising up to the occasion and show sign of solidarity, strength, empathy,etc

The games console is being increasingly used as a way to chat secretly. And at least one PlayStation 4 was reportedly seized during a huge night of raids across Belgium and France.


Last week, Belgium's foreign affairs minister warned that the PlayStation 4 was being increasingly used and was very difficult to track.


"The thing that keeps me awake at night is the guy behind his computer, looking for messages from IS and other hate preachers," Jan Jambon said.


"PlayStation 4 is even more difficult to keep track of than WhatsApp.The PlayStation Network that allows online players to communicate uses encrypted text and voice chat, which means that intelligence agencies can't intercept messages as they pass between users. Users can also create private chat rooms easily, meaning that people are more likely to know that they are being eavesdropped on.


Earlier this year, an Austrian teenager was found to have been using a PlayStation 4 to make contact with Isis activists in Syria, according to prosecutors. Police had found data on the console that included bomb-making instructions, according to Reuters.

Multiple news outlets have been reporting that terrorists might have used PlayStation 4 to plan the Paris attacks, through Sony's online service, PlayStation Network, which allows users to communicate with each other by voice or text. Much of that reporting stemmed from an article on Forbes.com titled "How Paris ISIS Terrorists May Have Used PlayStation 4 to Discuss And Plan Attacks."
But that article was debunked. Kotaku.com fact-checked the piece, namely the claim from the author that raids in Brussels after the attack turned up at least one PlayStation 4 console.
The author of the Forbes piece later told Kotaku, "This was actually a mistake that I've had to edit and correct... I misread the minister's statement, because even though he was specifically saying that PS4 was being used by ISIS to communicate, there is no public list of evidence list of what was found in the specific recent raids. I've edited the post to reflect that, and it was more meant to be about discussing why or how groups like ISIS can use consoles. It's my fault, as I misinterpreted his statement."
A correction on the Forbes article now reads:

French Muslims are active in declaring they are taking this fight as their own and tell all to report suspicious activities. They are both afraid of the backlash and want to protect their religion. I hope they are genuine in their fight against the extremists. Real progress will only come when they denounce section of their holy book.
