We have a Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board functioning and it is not known what effective measures are initiated to check the alarming growth rate of pollution of air at Chennai.

Every vehicle is supposed to carry out an Emission Test to monitor emission and to control it.

Of course, in Chennai with everyday passing by, strength of vehicle is added increasing the volume but the alarming factor is that most of these vehicles are diesel driven which are prone to pollute the air. The worst situation is some of the existing fuel stations used to sell poor quality of diesel.

Besides. Chennai has big manufacturing Industries at Manali dealing with products like Fertilizers, Chemicals, Refineries, Petro-products, Rubber, etc

One can see at Chennai few of constables who are discharging Traffic Regulation duty at arterial roads during peak hour, wearing face mask to avoid inhaling polluted air which is hazardous.

Will the Government take serious note of this?
