This week end I am in Thanjavur area to visit Vaitheeswaran Koil. and plan to visit few more places to be specific Thiruvarur and Vedaranyam. Former rings music and a song of Thiagaraja you heard To see Sri Ramapaadam you donot have to go to Rameswaram!You have that in Vedaranyam Kodiyakarai close to Tiruvarur also..

ராமர் இலங்கையை சென்றடைய இவ்வழியை தான் முதலில் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார். பின்பு , இவ்வழியாக சென்றால் இலங்கையின் பின்பகுதியை தான் சென்றடைய முடியும் என்பதனால் சத்ய புருஷனான ராமர் கோடியக்கரை வழியாக இலங்கை செல்ல மறுத்துவிட்டார். பின்பு, அனைவரும் ராமேஸ்வரம் வழியாக இலங்கையை சென்றடைந்தது நாம் அறிந்த ஒன்று. I am not sure this is authenticaed in any version of Ramayana! Would welcome more information on this!
