Popularized by MS Subbulakshmi, 'Bruhi Mukundethi' is a Sadashiva Brahmendra composition. 2013 IndianRaga Fellow Harsha Nagarajan set it to a ragamalika in ragams Kurinji, Kapi, Nagaswarali, and Hamsanandi, in this unique interpretation. The piece is preceded by a Thani Avarthanam to showcase the brilliance of our young mridangists.

Performed at IndianRaga Chicago Labs, February 2015 by:

Aparajitha Adiraju (Vocal)
Varshini Iyer (Vocal)
Vishvak Kumaran (Mridangam)
