Dear friends,
I was drawn towards the teachings of our great guruji, the realised saint, the living god of the modern times, none other than the MahaPeriyava, because of his practical down to earth approach, accesibilty, his wisdom, and his divine grace.
His various discourses and writings are published as "Theivathin Kural" in a various volumes.
In the books one can cleary find guidelines on how to lead a Brahminical way of life even in this modern machine age. One will find lots of practical advice, analysis of various problems, solutions.. etc etc.. Some of them are in the Kanchi Kamakoti website, but I strongly request our community to buy the books and read them or gift them.

If you want to buy one ....

Dear Malgovaji,

May I suggest another set of books authored by HH Sri Chandrasekhara
Bharathi Mahaswamigal of Sringeri ? One set contains his lectures and
another one is in the form of questions and answers. A great scholar and
a Jivanmukta he is, He has specialised in Vedanta and his sheer logic is a
delightful food for geniune seekers of wisdom. I think it is available in
in Tamil, Kannada and English languages.

Kadalangudi Natesa sastrigal's commentary on principal upanishads and
Brahma sutra is very good. So also Brahmasri Arunachala sastri's exposition
of srimad Bhagavad Gita is good giving the purport of Gita.

Thank you

Dear Sri Renganathan ji!

Many thanks for your kind suggestion. I'll keep this in view and will buy in future.

You should be a Brahma Nishta.

Many salutations to you.

Dear Malgovaji,

It is not available in the net.

As far as kavyas are concerned, I am interested but somehow or the other
I have not devoted any time towards reading it.

Most of the books of Swami Sivananda are available on line. He was a great Yogi who was born as Kuppuswami Iyer in Patthamadai, Thirunelveli district. He was one of the first Indians to write books about Hinduism in English.

Being a Medical practitioner he ran a free hospital for the poor and deprived sections of the society in Rishikesh. The hospital still does yeomen service.

The Lakshman Jula bridge in Rishikesh has been renamed as Sivananda Bridge.

He was a pioneer in introducing yoga to the west and also among the Tamil Brahmins. His disciple Vishnu Devananda spread yoga in Canada and U.S. He was also the sanyasa Guru of Swami Chinmayananda.

You can download his books here.

Other than these there are a number of sites with his articles about Hinduism.
