Return of the Brahmin

After the return of BJP govt at the centre and Maharashtra ,Brahmins are staging a comeback in the political arena.

In the centre there are four brahmin ministers from maharashtra/goa -Nitin Gadkari,Prakash Javdekar,Suresh Prabhu, Manohar parikar

we even have an iyer minister originally from tamilnadu

in maharashtra , a brahmin D.Phadnavis has become chief minister .In this state ,it has not had a brahmin minister since nineties

The reason being given is that brahmins have kept away from politics . however they are in RSS ,a social organisation in large numbers.

Also with opening out of economy , it is being reasoned that caste is ceasing to matter and it is only competence and capability.

All the ministers mentioned above are considered competent.

In tamilnadu also, The only way out for brahmin appears to be a national party which they are expected to support in large numbers

With opening out of economy and IT revolution, competition is become furious in all walks of life . Old clan and caste connections are becoming obsolete and

Talent is the only key key to survival and prosperity '

Politics is not far behind and the change is getting reflected in politics as in other fields.

Recently a march by 20,000 RSS members was stopped and participants were arrested by the police, despite court order permitting the march. Justification by the police is - the processionists were wearing uniform (kaki shorts), carrying intimidating weapons (thin staff) and possibility of violence. RSS members have never indulged in violence. It is a socio-service organization and is the first to arrive at the scene (natural disasters, terror attacks, accidents like fire, railway and building collapse) and start relief. MSM has always blacked out RSS's humanitarian activities, but the social media is a godsend for RSS. RSS has members from all communities and the prevalent and promoted propaganda by the media and politicians that it is a brahmins' preserve is a big lie.

The claim that next year 2 lakh RSS members will march may be achieved; growth of bjp and rss in tamilnadu can provide an alternative to the two main parties.

For delhi elections. Bjp is planning to field ABVP members in atleat 50 % of the seats.

They have decided to give the volunteers mostly young better modern dresses so that they will feel proud of wearing them.

this includes fashionably cut full pants . green and orange shirts with saffron/green caps.

since the voting population is largely youth , they would like to cultivate this constituency.

Who will be delhi's cm.

In maharashtra, well before the election, many maharashtrians of all hues predicted that fadnavis will be the next cm.

I would be more interested in Jand K story. Will BJP get 44 seats to form a govt with the help of small players in the valley.?

Provided it stops begging Rajnikanth to take the BJP forward in TN and rather builds itself up organically with the people of TN through its own local leadership . It will be a long journey for the BJP in TN but they must start building themselves up slowly and steadily .Even in last Parliamentray Elections many TB voted for AIADMK rather than BJP because they did not want their votes to get wasted and DMK winning due to it .

If driven out kashmiri pundits are allowed to vote, election results may throw some surprises. Jammu and ladak voters too can influence the outcome.

J and K pandits are allowed postal ballots.

even if BJP sweeps Jammu and Ladakh , they require six to eight seats in kashmir valley

their bet is many kashmir muslims boycott and do not vote .

with low voting and pandit votes getting counted , even they can get small parties who can pull 6-8 percent votes in a three or four cornered contest , they stand a

chance

Already there is a chorus that kashmiris will not accept a hindu CM. True islamic and indian secularism. Allowing pundits to claim their properties and allowing all indians to buy property and settle in kashmir is the right solution to the kashmir problem.

well there is a democratic process.

as per that , whoever gets the numbers forms the govt.

pandits can go back if their security is assured.

there was a film made of insurgency in kashmir - Haider

If you happened to see it , you will get an idea what the people of kashmir have gone through.

. it is similar in some north eastern states .

if people are alienated due to harsh military laws such as AFSPA , they start hating the state terror and want to be left alone.

healing will take a long time .

unless there is a change of mindset it is difficult for the people to become state friendly .

almost every family directly or indirectly has suffered due to military rule.

if there is a change , people will welcome it

If BJP enables it , people will welcome their govt

Didn't know pdp/nc inflicted military rule. Anyway the right step will be to repeal article 370, make kashmir like any other state of india with same rights and privileges and move the army to the border. All those indulging in shooting and sporadic stone throwing must be handled by the local police and special teams when police can't handle.

Repeal pf art 370 is in the bjp election agenda. This one step will considerably dilute kashmir problem.

Nirmala Sitharaman belongs to Musiri. Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are also Bs.

Of the four important portfolios at Centre, three are occupied by Bs. Finance, External Affairs and Defence. Is it correct?

sarangji
when it comes to elections, BJP is likely to soft pedal art 370.

recently action is being taken against some army men for some of their illegal actions.

if there is fairness and decent civilian rule without excesses there might be more acceptance

basic issue of alienation due to lack of development is also playing on the minds of people.

if the living conditions , infrastrucure get developed and life style improves with more prosperity , people will respond differently .

punjab came back from brink of insurgency . why not kashmir?

Quite true

Whenever we, B get opportunity or people who are pro-B, we try to dominate even beyond what we really deserve. Presently, it may look rosy. But any change of Govt. especially if Congress comes to power, we may not get even what we naturally deserve.

Some times such domination may not yield any result at all. But, it may have negative effect. Sanskrit and Carnatic Music are perfect examples. IRUKKU ANA ILLAI.

well make kashmir like punjab or any other state of india. Problem solved.
Change of govt is imminent inJand K .

Let us see what the new govt will do.

I trust people will do what is good for themselves. even in delhi , MCD is controlled by BJP.

But the corruption there is phenominal.

once politicians taste power , they behave the same way.

Dear Krish Sir, Yours seems to be a wishful thinking. Even I wish it happens but for me it looks like a dream which will remain a dream. we are a miniscule few in TN and I wonder what influence we can exercise on the non-b category. As regards competence and talent, while they are plenty in TN, i wonder if they will ever be given their due importance. TN electorate is moved more by sentiment than sense. don't you think so?

Tamil nadu folks have long back ditched the national parties!

Not sure if BJP can win seats in Tamil Nadu only on its strength!

RSS is not strong in TN

People continue to fed by B/NB propaganda

There is a remote chance if MuKa gang is also incarcerated & Rajini takes center stage

Till then it is wishful thinking (Atthaikku mesai mulaithal)

It should be the Return of the Jedi...those who can deliver!

What does it matter which caste the person is..as long they deliver results.

After all Modi himself is not a Brahmin and he is making a change.

I dont think when it comes to advancement of a country..the caste game should be played.

Whoever who is qualified and can deliver should be given the post.

If competence and ability is the criterion, Brahmins will occupy most of the positions in any organisation including the govt.

when there is a great disparity and in other castes most are first or second generation learners , if there is no protection for them, their interests and advancement

have to be taken care of by the highest in caste pyramid. this does not happen, hence the quota and reservation policies . but this leads to inefficiencies and incompetence

in delivery of services by govt and organisation. There is no easy answer to this issue.

Brahmins are facing reverse discrimination specially in tamilnadu .it is the economically weak brahmins who suffer as a result .hence there is a need for their

organising in political sphere to protect their interests. this has happened in northern states where their percentage is higher in some states/regions.in Tamilnadu ,they

have not been conscious of their political strength and got left behind

what prevents BJPs growth in tamilnadu are two issues- their attitude towards tamil language and thrusting of hindi , those relating to tamils in srilanka and tamil

fishermen frequently

harassed by srilankan patrols.

they require a credible leader for which they are trying to rope in rajnikant.

they require a tie up with with some caste/language based parties such as DMDK, PMK, vaiko and dalit groups.

they also need to take all brahmins into their fold who would be too happy to join.

other north indian communities in tamil nadu like marwaris, sourashtrians , it professionals from north will gravitate towards it,

all this is not a far fetched scenario .

some of this could happen before 2016
