Can any member clarify regarding the correct loaction of there two jotirlingas
1.Vaidynatham both Maharashtra and Bihar lay a claim
2, Naageswar both Mahrashtra and Uttar Pradesh lay a claim

I feel Vaidyanatham in Bihar is correct.

while there is controversy, but in Tamizh Nadu itself, all the dwadasa-jyothirlingam can be identified.these sort of discrepancies exist becoz ,every king did what he wanted, unless and untill the gurus intervened to set matters right.nowadays,a degree from a reputed institute,is the, certifying authority on scripture, unlike how it was during guru-shishya parampara of india.its laughable that adi-sankara needs certifying from scholars, who are nothing but bums.

many kings did what they wanted, despite any guru or any one's intervension to do their liking...

as per puranas,ithihasas...kings shat their load,if rishis, munis, asked them to do somethings for loka kshemam...

The original Jyotirlingas are well established by slokas and tradition. But sometimes the tradition is not in consonance with the sloka.Hence the problem.Number of temples may be there called "Jyotir Lingas" by the ;ocals. But that does not make them one. We have to identify the real ones.

Jyothir Lingam in Bihar

Dear Friend,
The Jyothir lingam of Bihar , now in Jharkhand is located in a place called Dev Ghar. This district is bordering Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The Lingam is named as Baidyanath Dahm, because of Bengali accent. To reach here by Train , get down at Jasidih Junction, which is in the New Delhi - Howrah route. Over night journey from places like Gaya and little more than that from Varanasi or Mughal Sarai.
Jasidih to Dev Ghar you will find local EMU's and MMU's and of course Rickshaws which will charge you some 50 to 60 Rs. Once you visit here you make it a point to visit Thapovan , where Ravanan was performing Thapas to please Lord Shiva and Trikoot a rare merge of 3 hills also called as Dattareya and Basuki Dahm located at a distance of 40 K.M. from Dev ghar. Local buses will take you to Basuki Dahm at 25 Rs per head.
This is located in a small village and the average crowd here is 3 to 4 times more than that of Tirupathi on normal days.
To have darshan here you have to catch hold of some local pandas here and he will charge you upto 500 Rs depending on your look. Alternatively catch hold of the Guards there with Khakhi uniform at 100 Rs you can have a darshan.
While coming out of Garba gudi Embrass the wall of the Garba gudi as it is termed as Sita mata ki Godh ( Madi or Thol ). It is told that Ravanan after hearing from Rama that INRU POI NAALAI VAA made a visit here and was pleading Shiva that the defeat is because Lingam didnot accompony him to Lanka.
Shiva convince him that his death is not in the hand of an ordinary Naran but in the hands of Avatharam.
Before pleading Ravanan embrassed the wall as dejected man. Lord shiva tells him that any person doing so , all his sins committed bodily or by mind will be pardoned.
Ravanan goes back happily after under standing the truth to battle field to die in the hands of RAMA.
Please make it a point to visit atleast once.
