My son-in-law planned to perform the Griha Pravesam of his house during the third week of April 2014 and conduct the upanayanam of his son on 4th. May 2014 i.e. the Sankara Jayanthi day under Samasthi Upanayanam. Unfortunately, his nephew (elder brother's son) died today i.e. 25/03/2014. Is performance of Grihapravesam and/or upanayanam prohibited under the circumstances as arranged?
