BHAVANI STUTI BY Ashit Desai; Hema Desai,

Very beautiful and bountiful stotram

Bhavani Stuti/Devi Aparadh Kshamapana. Stotram - YouTube

Param jaane maatastwa danusharanam klesha haranam

I don't know how to recite Your mantra, how to worship You with yantra,
Nor do I know how to welcome you or meditate upon you.
I don't know how to pray to you or how to do Your mudra.
Nor do I know how to open my heart to you and tell you of my suffering.
But this I know, Oh MA!
That to take refuge in you will destroy all my sorrow.

2. Widheragyaa nena dravina virahe naa lasatayaa
Vidheyaa shakya twaa tawa charana yoryaa chyuti rabhoot
Tadetat kshantavyam janani sakalo dhaa rini shiwe
Kuputro jaayetaa kwachidapi kumaataa na bhawati

Because of my ignorance, poverty and sloth,
I have not been able to worship Your feet.
But Oh Mother! gracious Deliverer of all,
All this should be forgiven,
For a bad son may sometimes be born,
But a bad mother, never...

3. Pritivyaam putraaste janani bahawa santi saralaah
Param tesham madhye virala tara loham tawa sutah
Madheeyo yam tyaagah samuchitamidam no tawa shiwe
Kuputro jaayeta kwachidapi kumaataa na bhawati

Oh MA! You have so many worthy sons on earth
But I am a worthless,
Yet it isn't right that You should abandon me
For a bad son may sometimes be born in this world
But a bad mother, never...

4. Jaggan maatar maata stawa charana sewa na rachitaa
Na waa datam dewi dravina mapi bhooya stawa mayaa
Tatapi twam sneham mayi niroopamam yatpra kurushe
Kuputro jaayeta kwachi dapi kumaataa na bhawati

Oh Ma! Mother of the World.
I have not worshipped Your feet
Nor have I given wealth to You
Yet the love and affection You bestow on me is without compare.
For a bad son may sometimes be born in this world,
But a bad mother, never...

5. Na mokshasya kanksha bhawa wibhawa waancha pichana me
Na wigyaanaa peksha shashi mukhi sukhechaa pi na poonah
Atastwaam sanyaache janani jananam yaatu mama wai
Mridaanee Rudraanee Shiwaa Shiwaa Bhawaanee ti japatah

I have no desire for liberation
Nor do I desire wealth or knowledge.
Oh Moon-Faced One! I don't even wish to be happy.
But I beg only this of You,
That my whole life may pass in the singing of these words:
Mridaani, Rudraani, Shivaa, Shivaa, Bhavaani. [Names of the Goddess]

Thanks Doctor, Appreciated; Did you see Meenakshi Pancharatnam with lyrics and meaning ; Please see if you had missed it.

The tragedy with all such "internet slokas" is that most people are not even cursorily familiar with Sanskrit and so these slokas are littered with all kinds of mistakes. No god/goddess worth his/her salt will be amused or pleased with such abaddha-fied versions.
I am giving just the first sloka correctly below. Will try to complete this sloka by the next few days.

Param jaane maata: tawadanusaranam klesha haranam

na mantraṃ no yantraṃ tadapi ca na jāne stutim aho
na cāhvānaṃ dhyānaṃ tadapi ca na jāne stutikathāḥ |
na jāne mudrāste tadapi ca na jāne vilapanaṃ
paraṃ jāne mātastvadanusaraṇaṃ kleśaharaṇam ||1||

Sangom Sir

Is there any mistake in pronunciation ? otherwise translating from Sanskrit to English is not a big issue;

However i will edit my post and enter your version after you complete all the Slokas.

Is there any mistake in Meaning given, if so, you may correct that also

Thanks

Dear Shri PJ,

I have found that very few of the people who give these stotras, slokas, etc., care to look into some authentic book. For example, even in the first sloka the following errors are present; some of them may not affect the pronunciation but then it will be like justifying "சுக்குமு, ளகுதி, ப்பிலி" ;) :—

Param jaane maatastwa danusharanam klesha haranam

stuti maho - the correct wording is stutim aho (ஸ்துதிம் அஹோ) and not "stuti maho"

Na chaawaanam - In Maharashtra there is a practice to write 'hva', 'hla' etc., as 'vha', 'lha' etc. May be due to this the transliterators have omitted the "h" which will make the correct "Na cha aahvaanam = Na chaahvaanam"

tapi cha na jaane - It should be "tad api na jaane" meaning "that also (I) don't know". Those people have carelessly allowed a typo to be present.

stuti kataha - The correct word should have been "stuti kathaa: (ha)"; this means stories (plural kathaaha) of praise (stuti) of the goddess. But kataha has no meaning, while 'kata' means the clearing nut plant! Do you see?

maatastwa danusharanam - maatastwa is meaningless. The correct position is "Param jaane maata: tvad (maata: + tvad becomes maatastvad in sanskrit) anusaranam klesa haranam" meaning, roughly, "On the other hand (Param) : (I) know (jaane) : maata: (O, mother!) : tvad (to you) : anusaraNam (Not anu SharaNam) - (obedience) tvad+anusaraNam=tvadanusaraNam-obeying you : klesha haraNam (killing of all difficulties)

On the other hand, I know, O Mother! that obeying you will kill all difficulties.

The second verse (Sloka) is as follows:

विधेरज्ञानेन द्रविणविरहेणालसतया
विधेयाशक्यत्वात्तव चरणयोर्या च्युतिरभूत् ।
तदेतत्क्षन्तव्यं जननि सकलोद्धारिणि शिवे
कुपुत्रो जायेत क्वचिदपि कुमाता न भवति ॥२॥

vidherajñānena draviṇaviraheṇālasatayā
vidheyāśakyatvāttava caraṇayoryā cyutirabhūt |
tadetatkṣantavyaṃ janani sakaloddhāriṇi śive
kuputro jāyeta kvacidapi kumātā na bhavati ||2||

For ready reference, I am giving below the OP version and marking the errors in fire brick colour:

2. Widheragyaa nena dravina virahe naa lasatayaa
Vidheyaa shakya twaa tawa charana yoryaa chyuti rabhoot
Tadetat kshantavyam janani sakalo dhaa rini shiwe
Kuputro jaayetaa kwachidapi kumaataa na bhawati

Sri sangom Sir

Thanks

You complete all the verses ( need not quote Op version of English as it will be additional work and time for you ), then with your approval, i will edit my OP, and include your version.

This hymn contains 5 or 6 more slokas and not the 6 you had obtained from the net. I will like to know if those additional slokas are needed or whether these 5 which you have given are sufficient.

sangom Sir

The Youtube which is uploaded contains only 5 stanzas

So please correct the 5 Stanzas which i have uploaded;

Thanks for your Help
