I wish some experts calculate the appropriate dates of Oonam Masikam sodakumbham for my mother who expired recently. The details are given under to guide the calculation of oonam Masikams for my mother.

Gothram : Srivatsam, Iyer (Vadamal)
Date of Death: 03-10-2013, Thursday.
Time of Death: 16.20 Hours (Evening at 04.20 PM)
Masam & Tidhi: Purattasi Masam, Krishna Paksha-Chaturdashi

Thank you,
Hariharan

1. each son must do gaya sratham independately after varushaapteekam.

2. you are not eligible to do masikam. only eldest son must do maasikam and oona maasikam and sodhakumpam every month. if it is not posible he may do the left out masikams before varushaapteekam day. oona masikam must be done only on the prescribed date.

krishna paksham chathurthasi days: 2-11-13; 1-12-13; 31-12-13; 29-01-14; 28-02-14; 29-03-14; for this year. onky after purchasing new year panchankam we can tell dates for the next tamil year. sodakumpam must be done on the previous day of masdikam every month.

asper sastras sodhakumpam must be done on all the 365 days from 13th october which is impossible now a days. onna maasikam falls on 31-10-13 and 14-11-13 this year.

as per sastras you should not go to temples for onr year for any reason.

more details are there in rituals ceremonies and pooja---sticky thread--- anthim karyams- anthyeshty.

in the panchankam they used to write sraaththa thithi on the right side end column. you can select krishna paksha chathurthasi thithi there.

for oona maasikam on any one day from 27th to 30th day and for 2nd oona maasikam on any one day from 40 to 45 days. and for 3rdon any one day from 170 to 180 days and for fourth on any one day from 340 to 355 days.
