I'm Fine - How are you?

There's nothing the matter with me,
I'm just as healthy as can be,
I have arthritis in both knees,
And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze.
My pulse is weak, my blood is thin,
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

All my teeth have had to come out,
And my diet I hate to think about.
I'm overweight and I can't get thin,
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

And arch supports I need for my feet.
Or I wouldn't be able to go out in the street.
Sleep is denied me night after night,
But every morning I find I'm all right.
My memory's failing, my head's in a spin.
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in.

Old age is golden I've heard it said,
But sometimes I wonder, as I go to bed.
With my ears in a drawer, my teeth in a cup,
And my glasses on a shelf, until I get up.
And when sleep dims my eyes, I say to myself,
Is there anything else I should lay on the shelf?

The reason I know my Youth has been spent,
Is my get-up-and-go has got-up-and-went!
But really I don't mind, when I think with a grin,
Of all the places my get-up has been.

I get up each morning and dust off my wits,
Pick up the paper and read the obits.
If my name is missing, I'm therefore not dead,
So I eat a good breakfast and jump back into bed.

The moral of this as the tale unfolds,
Is that for you and me, who are growing old.
It is better to say "I'm fine" with a grin,
Than to let people know the shape we are in.

I'M FINE!! HOW ARE YOU?

I am perfectly Fine, Hope the same with Your Spine
You seem to be perfectly in Shape, Perhaps I am better than a Ape.. :)

Thank you for your enquiry, I now got to know the mystery
Old age is a golden age, I am now happy to accept my final stage.. :)

Dear Ravi bhai,
wow!!!! fantastic, so realistic.. When one accepts every turn of the life gracefully..where is the place for panic or depression.. all will be as cheerful as a new born.. if mind is energetic.. body will follow it automatically. If mind is dull and down.. then body becomes droopy double than the mind.. smile a lot.. that costs nothing.. Right???

I heard that Eskimos always say 'NO PROBLEM!' I posted a write up in my thread recently.

Since it is relevant here, I am copy pasting it, for easy reference!

'இப்போது உனக்குப் பிரச்சனையா?' எனக் கேட்டதும்,
'இப்போதும் எனக்குப் பிரச்சனையே இல்லை' என்றிட,

'பிரச்சனை உள்ளதை ஒப்புக் கொண்டால் விடுவோம்;
பிரச்சனை இல்லை என்றால் தள்ளுவோம்', எனக் கூற,

'நான் இறந்தால் ஏதும் அறியேன்; பிரச்சனை இல்லை!
நான் விடுதலை அடைந்தால், என் ஊரை அடைவேன்;

அங்கும் பிரச்சனை ஏதும் இல்லையே!' என்று உரைக்க,
தங்கள் மடமையை உணர்ந்தனர் கிராமத்தினர், நன்கு!

:peace: . .
:clap2:

you the names of all the diseases, known and unknown. Next time when

Dear Raji Madam & Ranganathan Sir
Thank you so much for the lovely posts.. I am not exaggerating.. please don't misunderstand me.. this is from the bottom of my heart and true words.. all the writers here in this forum are really wonderful. I feel like a child when I go through all the posts.. I wanted to read all the posts. Keep on moving from one thread to the other. And Raji Madam.. you are fantastic.. to write poems in Tamil that so lovely . I read you O America poems.. As I have mentioned I take time to read but it is too good to read it slowly, like a student who tries to read sentences slowly and loudly... Thank you very much. I am very happy and proud to share the forum with you people. With respects Anandi

One of my music students got married recently. She told me that she panics many times a day, since

her mother in law's prefix to each sentence is பொழைச்சுக் கடந்தா. Poor dear!
