I have read:
[Maharishi Ramanar has translated, as below, from Adi sankara's viveka chudamani>>> one of the amuda vaaku]
{Ref: Swami Sudhnanda Bharathi "Sri Ramaana Vijayam"}

Now, submitting, I have heard that Sastras prescribe that one to definitely perform nithya karmas with out fail even during the mourning days and date of death etc etc.. It is stipulated while doing final rites also the karthahas to do whatever daily anushtanams with out fail. Our Paramacharaya has also extolled many times that no ritual is complete or benefits derived without doing nithyanushtanams. Those who are 50+ may even know that Sri Rajaji has mentioned some time that doing daily sandhya vandhanam etc is not an earning virtue act but one earns sin when not done!!!. Such are said on the importance of performing nithya karmas. In the light of the above how does one understands Bhagavan Sri Ramana ‘s nectar [ amudha vakku] while translating his maiden first words of Adi sankara’s viveka choodamani stated as above.
Does it amount to implying that if one is embedded sincerely in Atma vichara/ realise the Brahman, even non performing of nithya karma, worshipping idols and going to temples can be compromised or exempted?.
The clarity is not sought to avoid & to escape doing daliy karmas but to understand the words correctly & rightly.
Will some learned masters of this forum kindly elucidate between the above two and clear my ignorance?
Thank you

The realization of Brahman is the realization of unity/oneness in all things of the universe, animate and inanimate. Then the question of doing karmas or idol worship does not even arise. For who is there to do karmas and for whom? Who is there to worship and to what? There is only one - call it by any name Self, Brahman, Sunya etc.

Adi Sankara also spoke at two levels - the relative and the absolute. Until realization one can do nithya karmas, idol worship etc. All that is at the relative level when the unity has not been realized.
