Samsung is known for the absurd amounts of money it puts into marketing it’s products: In the year 2013 alone, Samsung spent a whopping 14 Billion Dollars on advertising alone.

This time, maybe Samsung has gone a bit overboard. Strike that, Samsung has gone completely insane. It has, somehow convinced the Heathrow Airport authorities to rename Terminal 5 to Terminal Galaxy S5. The renaming isn’t permanent, it is only for two weeks. Still, imagine the absurdity of this one; You will see the Galaxy S5 everywhere you go (At least inside the airport). Samsung has transcended to new amounts of absurdity.

All signs of Terminal 5 will be erased and will be replaced by Samsung’s branding. All security check points, entry gates, exit gates, everything. Even your tickets will be rebranded to Samsung’s name. Yes, even Terminal 5′s website will be redesigned according to Samsung’s taste.

This, really is silly. The hype surrounding new phones, especially from manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple helps in creating awareness that a new phone is on the block. The advertisements everywhere: Flyers, TV Ads, etc to help in promoting new products. But no, Samsung had to take it one step further and actually rebrand a Terminal, all for what? To promote one single product. Absurd, we tell you.
