Hi all
My MILs varusha thithi (this is her second death anniversary, first being varushapthigam) is in the end of october. Is it that we have to do Homams and things compulsary or just giving dhatham is as good as doing the actual procedure? What is the significance of this? Since me and my spouse are working and also we have an infant at home, I am not sure if I should perform homam at home...

Hi All,It is duty of the son(s) to perform annual srartham with homam. In your case ,If you did the last rites for your MIL you should perform varusha thithi also.Nowadays in every place facilities are available to perform thithis. For the betterment of future generations we have todo this rituals without any break.
