Panagam/Panakam/Sri Rama Navami Recipes

Panagam is a traditional drink made as a naivedhyam on sri rama navami(lord rama's birthday)and on the last day of navaratri.It is also distributed in festivals in amman temples.It brings down body heat and helps in preventing from chicken pox in the summer.

Ingredients

Jaggery 1cup
Water 3cups
Lime juice 1lime
Dry ginger powder 1/6tsp
Cardamom 1


Method

1.Powder jaggery and dissolve it in water.leave it for 30 minutes.
2.Powder the Cardamom.
3..Add chukku or dry ginger powder,cardamom powder,lime juice.
4.Strain it for the impurities and serve chilled.
