IBM’s Watson is one of the word’s most advanced forms of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The quiz show Jeopardy, which is already hard enough for us humans, was conquered by Watson.

And now, IBM wants to bring all that AI power to your smartphone. So long, Siri! Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a piece of the most Advanced AI in a device that fits in the palm of your hand?

IBM announced that it will be holding a developer challenge ( aptly named: IBM Watson Mobile Developer Challenge ) with the aim of apps leveraging use of IBM’s advanced Deep data analysis and Natural Language Processing capabilities (i.e it’s clever AI) .

The competition will be open for the next 3 months and the top 3 developers will obtain support from IBM for further development.

The final app will most probably make use of Watson’s supercomputer cluster by cloud computing and will make your smartphone smarter than ever.
Watson started out as an experiment with AI and has now grown massively and is currently in use in many industries such as : Banking, Health Care and Retail.

Watson has since grown in knowledge and is much more powerful and accurate than ever. Other AI services like Apple’s Siri seem puny in comparison to Watson.

Hope Watson comes to Smartphones soon (*fingers crossed*)!
