[h=1]Can’t afford the S5? Dont worry, the Goophone is there for you![/h] http://mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/goophones5.jpg
The Galaxy S5 debuted about 2 days ago. In that 2 day time frame, knockoff smartphone maker Goophone has managed to churn out a knockoff Goophone S5: For those who can’t afford the S5 but want to flaunt it.

Looking at it’s exterior, you would be forgiven if you mistake it for the real Galaxy S5. Goophone has taken care of every last detail, down till the dimpled back and heartbeat sensor ( Though whether it actually has that functionality, we don’t know! ). Infact there is nothing to differentiate it from Samsung’s flagship, except for the Goophone branding inplace of the Samsung branding.

It even has a Full HD ( 1920*1080 ) 5 inch display, which is just a tad shorter than the S5′s 5.1 inch Full HD display.

But that is where the similarities end, the internals are a far cry from the S5. It has a 2.0 Ghz octa-core processor, which is quite powerful, on par with 2013′s flagships, but it is still far behind the S5′s 2.5 Ghz Snapdragon 801 processor or the 2.1 Ghz Octa-core processor, as a matter of fact. The octa core processor is paired with an ample 2GB RAM.
Another thing you have to give up is 4G LTE, the Goophone is a 3G only device. Also it sports only WiFi b/g/n which is a standard behind the S5′s WiFi ac ( Though there are a few WiFi ac devices or routers in the market, it is still good to futureproof ). Also the camera has gone down from the 16 MP found in the S5 to 13 MP.

It runs on Android 4.2 Jellybean which is still two versions down from Google’s latest and greatest : Android 4.4 Kitkat .

Even 2 years before, those kind of powerful specs on a budget smartphone would be unimaginable. But due to Mediatek, powerful processors are available for low cost.
It is powered by an ample 2800mAh battery.

It will come in 4 colours : Black, White, Gold and Blue, the same colours that the S5 comes in.

It will retail for just $300 which is far below the S5′s over $700 asking price.
