Hello All:

How have you all been?

I came across the attached ad for telugubrahmins.com in Indian Express NA edition recently and thought I would share with you all. I don't know if publishing something like this for TamBrams would be helpful in roping more members or would be detrimental to our efforts.

Anyway, here is my 2 cents:

[1]Giving an ad would raise awareness and get us more members which would help us in the long run towards achieving our objectives

[2] In the short term, we could have some negative impacts – Not sure about this

[3] Perhaps we can have Audio/Video Clippings of our Nallayara Prabhandam or whatever is applicable , Sandhyavandhanam video clips, News Articles, Brahmin Customs, Poonal ceremony and its significance, about Brahmin Weddings, Jobs etc., etc.,

[4] Associate ourselves with Telugu Brahmins and promote our objectives

What say you?

The ad asttachment seems to be missing in ur post. Reg the ad thing, Pravin is looking into that and an ad will be out soon. We had a discussion on this some days ago in the "volunteers" section.

as to advertising Tamilbrahmins.com, an Ad should come out in this Sunday's Edition of The Hindu or it should come in the following Week.

here is the telugu brahmin ad
thanks Suresh for sending it across :)

It is true that Keralaiyers.com, the thing is that these Brahmin's orginaly from South India and settled in Kerala. But Telugu Brahmins East of India (south) and their Tradations and Custams is different. Telugu speaking all of them always against the Tamil's , at Tamilnadu their Population was raising by 12% and they are 60% in total population. That's why we the Tamiliyans last our Ruling rights in Tamilnadu. To-day 80 M.L.A.'s are Telugu's. During JJ period also the same no's and Kannada, Malayalam speaking M.L.A. at TN asmly. We must united all Tamil speaking Community and come to a common plateform. That is the Only way to get our rights, Other wise we must put the Title Name as "Dalit" .e.g. Dalit S.R.Krishnamurthy. like.

Sir,

Why would you like to put titles as "dalit"?

Why would you say telugus are 60% total population in tamilnadu?

Why would you say all telugu people are always against the tamils?

Why would say during JJ's period there were same number of telugu, kannada and malayalam speaking MLAs in TN assembly?

Why would you suggest Iyengars are non-tamils (in a previous post) ?

Why would you say Telugu and Kannada Brahmins are against Tamil brahmins (in a previous post) ?

Just in case this helps: Some 2008 stats:

1) Telugu-speaking people in Tamil Nadu = 35 lakh or 5.7% of the state's population.

2) Kannada-speaking people in Tamil Nadu = 10.5 lakh or 1.7% of the state's population.

3) Malayalam-speaking people in Tamil Nadu = 5.55-lakh or less than 1% of the state's population.

4) Gujarati-speaking people in Tamil Nadu = 2 lakh.

5) Marathi-speaking people in Tamil Nadu = 62,000.

6) Bengali, Punjabi or Nepali speakers = number over 6,000 each.

7) Urdu speakers in Tamil Nadu = 9 lakh or 1.5% of the state's population.

Dear friends I was bought up in Hyderabad, though I am a tb. I can vouch for the fact that there is no dislike for brahmins in AP as is the case in TN. They thankfully had no periyar or DK or DMK. Nor did they have a JJ who being a brahmin humilated her clan by tormenting Kanchi acharya. Lucky telugu brahmins. They will have no repurcussions for such ads. Same cannot be said about our land.

Poor status of Tamil brahmins.

Dear happy Hindu, Your reply with census , thankyou, my point is very clear, I was Associated with a organisation which regularly leads studints for projects, as 1991 census tn pup was 5.51. cores, those days the DD telecost a show called Trangini in telugu ,when DD stoprd this show all telugu assn joined together and fight for the progm .That day news paper ad was this "We the telugu populations was 3cror and we want dd to continue this progm. 2001 plu was 7.76 and 2008 8.87.cores the survy very clealy inticats that telugu growth rare was 12% yearly and Tamil's -% growth rate.e.g. 100 death born 112. Tamils 100 deaths none born only ever 1000 deaths 08 births. this is because of birth controls influcented in tamils. Also during 1969-70 there is oral govt order to do family control plan and adviced to all Doctors to do operation to tamil girls coming for delivery, with out their concent.

Those guys have a penchant for boosting up stuff (ego). Before the days of income-tax raids, it seems it was fairly common to quote double of what they really owned in the kitty ...so, please do not go by numbers given out by them at face value.

2001 plu was 7.76 and 2008 8.87.cores the survy very clealy inticats that telugu growth rare was 12% yearly and Tamil's -% growth rate.e.g. 100 death born 112. i know of someone who worked in the tamil nadu government serviceand was around during the time you mention: 1969-1970; and is very much in touch with the class-mates, seniors, juniors, etc....never heard of family-planning operations being performed on anyone without consent. And that too you say operation was done on tamil girls "coming for delivery" (??)...and then why only tamil girls? Plus you say it was an "oral govt order" (Govt orders are never oral)....wud be nice if you could clarify.

It would also be nice if you could clarify from where you got the growth rate of telugus at 12%. As far as i am given to understand, most of them took to limiting children to a max of 4 by the 1940s. Then it came to 3 and then to 2 (but am not including people who forever have been dribbling down from andhra into tamilnadu since the 1950s. As an aside am adding this: it looks that those that did dribble down in ancient times are currently pucca tamilians, this may be esp true of times when there was no "andhra", instead there were territories such as trilinga desa...).

Even if you were to consider 3 times of what the census say, it wud still amount to 18%. If you are saying telugu population in tamil nadu is 60% that means most of Tamil Nadu is actually telugu nadu (??) - i hope you realize what you are saying really...
