“Sri Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum.”
Recently we had been Guruvayur Kshetram the holy abode of Sri Krishna in Kerala to recite Narayaneeyam at this holy Temple. This magnificent Temple attracts tens and thousands of devotees all through the year. Our Narayaneeyam Group of 45 Ladies were offered the date on August 8, 2013 to recite Narayaneeyam at the feet of the Lord. It was a life time experience to us for which we have been practicing for months.
As you know Narayaneeyam is the summery of Sri Bhagavatha purana in 1036 Sanskrit verses composed by Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri in 1586 AD.
At Guruvayur Temple darshan of the Lord starts with Nirmalyam at early morning 3.00 AM followed by Uchi Pooja at 11.30 A.M and the night Pooja at 9.00PM. It was a wonderful experience to see the Lord in various Alankaras at different times. He grows up from a child Sri Krishna to Sri Narayana as the day grows by. It is the belief of the devotees that Sri Guruvayurappan will certainly grant the requests of his devotees who ever they may be without fail.
Lord Sri Krishna was born in prison who lost his parantal Love almost from his Birth. But grew up cheerful under the loving care of his foster parents, Nanda and Yasoda. His life was not smooth, it was turbulent from the beginning. If you analyse the incidents, you will find His unique qualities. When he was young he mixed his pranks with his duty – to save the good from the bad. He was loved by everybody. He loved everyone. Even though he gave the World the greatest of Philosophy of Life, His whole life itself was personification of highest Philosophy. Krishna gave the truth to the world in the Battlefield of Kurukshetra. We are all Arjunas in one respect of other.
Tomorrow August 28, 2013 is Sri Krishna Janmashtami, birthday of Lord Krishna.
May His Blessings be with us,
“Sri Krishnam Vande Jagat Gurum.”
Regards,
Chitra B.
