from moods to scenes. We have already seen ragas and moods, but if you wanna sonological picture of a scene like a leaf falling down slowly, or a rain which increases in intensity and stoping, or changing moods of a woman looking at a puddle of water which gets disturbed when ripples occur in it, then u need a sruti bedam – that was the message. That was a very interesting dissection of sorts of 4 ragas changing their tune and tone. Wow!!
That was a promotional concert it seems, and although the full back up of percussion and the entire thillana is not there, the lec dem with bits and pieces from Lal’s thillana, dissected into pieces, was revealing for an BASIC person like me. That is the idea of the concert where PIANIST anil Srinivasan and VIOLINIST GJR Krishnan presented in this lively lec-demo.
I wonder if there were any advanced musicians who did not like it either.
