Ranga means color. It represents the names and forms of Universe's living and non-living. All ranga, the colors (forms) submerge into black, the color of mahAviSNu who is called Ranganatha, which is his form in SriRangam. Deep inside every ranga, the colored names and forms, Lord resides with no interference and hence said to be sleeping. Hence ranga or each colored manifestation with name & form is also the 'stage' in which the Lord resides. We delight in this form of lord of all the 'stages', the Ranganatha and seek his eternal bliss.
