Pallankuzhi was a pastime for us when we visited our grandparents home!!

Another thing that comes to mind is the antique coffee grinder at home..My grandma used to roast the coffee beans & ground them..Freshly brewed coffee was then made!!

Almost all the olden days brahmin houses had the hand grinders & men used used to help , when it becomes hard to operate. Only thing , we had experienced was ;- theplace of fixing the grider gives way sooner than later & start innovating / Packing thick Attai , underneath & it works for some time & replace/ refit & carry on ?
Some houses may have them , just to show, proudly, to their grand children who may visit either in India or from U.S.
