Qualcomm has announced a new SoC 9System on a Chip), the Snapdragon 821, which is 10% faster than the Snapdragon 820, which is the SoC of choice for flagships in 2016. In fact, when you come to the big leagues, Qualcomm is pretty much the market leader when it comes to SoCs for smartphones, and as of late, it is making inroads into the mid-end and low-end markets, competing against companies like Mediatek.

The Snapdragon 821 has four Kryo cores running at 2.5 Ghz and has the Adreno 530 GPU. We don’t know anything else about this SoC right now.
Many phones on the market are using the Snapdragon 820 SoC. In fact, the OnePlus 3, which was launched recently, also has a Snapdragon 820 SoC. In the span of mere months, Qualcomm has announced the successor of this chipset, but maintains that the Snapdragon 821 is another addition to its lineup, not the replacement for the Snapdragon 820.
We may see phones using this SoC launch in the second half of 2016.
What do you think?
