Clarification of the Legend of Sadai udayar koil, Kalidaikurichi

My kulatheivam is Swami Sadaiudayar at Kallidaikuruchi. The legend says the Lord has helped in the delivery of a preganant girl while coming to her mother's place accompanied by her father. Lord appeared in the form of a village nurse and helped in the delivery and dispeared.
However i do not understand the rationale behind the objection of female members of the family( of any age) visiting the temple. Can any body expalin please.
