Extent of e commerce penetration in India...Anything and everything online

E-commerce boom? Now buy cow dung cakes online, offers include 10 per cent discount
Saurabh Singh New Delhi, Thursday, October 15, 2015

E-commerce is booming in India, there's no doubt about that. We have facts and figures to prove that, of course. But, this piece is not about that. It's more about how convenient life -- and shopping -- has become thanks to e-commerce boom in India (and elsewhere). There's practically 'nothing' that you 'cannot' buy from these online market places. Even cow dung cakes are available for buy, should you be interested. Not to say, these are any less useful. As a matter of fact, cow dung cakes are 'very' useful, but did you ever -- even in distant dreams -- imagine buying them would be so easy?
Many sellers on these e-commerce portals are offering cow dung cakes, that too for a discount. One such seller is Green Junction, which calls itself 'an eco-conscious, socially responsible industry focusing on green and environment friendly living'. It offers a range of 'environment friendly' products on e-retail websites like eBay. This includes the subject of this discussion: cow dung cake. The seller is offering 22 pieces of cow dung cake - on eBay - at a price of Rs.274.50. Just like any other e-retail seller, Green Junction offers you physical dimensions of what you're buying, and promises every cake to be 9cm in diameter and 1cm in thickness. Not an inch more, not an inch less? Perhaps, if that doesn't come out right, the seller will also replace it?

No wonder that one costs around 12.50 bucks because the local guys sell adulterated (!!) vaRatti at 10 bucks!!

BTW, the number 274 dived by 22 gives a fancy number: 12.4545454545454545.... (check it out!) :)

Who said 0.50 is ignored in on line trading.
It is 274.50

Oh, yeah! I noted that 50 paise!

But just wanted to share the fancy number I got by dividing, ignoring that amount!

Numbers always fascinate me! :)
