For a couple of weeks there have been rumours about Micromax owned YU televentures working on a phone called Yutopia. The phone has been said to be a flagship device in the mould of the OnePlus Two. Today, YU co-founder Rahul Sharma officially announced the phone in a blog post on the YU forums.
"Has it happened to you ever that you have been transformed from your real life into this dream where everything is perfect. The impractical, idealistic world where nothing is impossible. Well, it's happening here and the state of Yutopia is no more a dream," wrote Sharma in a blog post.

He is also making some lofty claims with the device. He claims that the phone will be the fastest smartphone in the world. "We have been working very hard to come up with the most powerful phone on this planet, yes you heard it right the most powerful phone ever, and boy, do we hit our target this time the answer is yes. The most powerful phone on this planet will be from YU for you and from India, making the YU clan the most powerful in the world," claims Sharma.
In light of what we know about the new iPhone 6S and what kind of processor technology Apple uses, it is hard to believe what Sharma is claiming. If the rumour mill is to be believed, then the Yutopia will have a 5.2-inch Full-HD display and it will be coupled with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU and 4GB RAM.
Now, these are specifications similar to what's present in the OnePlus Two, but this doesn't necessarily mean that it will be the most powerful phone. The Snapdragon 810 is known to be CPU which heats up a lot and many Android smartphone vendors have ditched it in favour of the lighter Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor.
While true, Sharma claims that the phone is still a work in process, so the final hardware stack may not even be finalised. In that case, if YU is able to pull a coup and get the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, which comes with the custom Kryo cores, YU may be able to come through on its promise of the world's fastest smartphone.
That, however, seems far fetched.
