Guess, the answer to the second equation of 10 to the power of -10 + 5 should be 5 and not as indicated in the doodle!

Instead of taking 10 to the RHS, the student is subtracting 10 from each side and that is it!

It is not 'To the power of ' , as you guess it to be!! :)
 
We were taught to take numbers from LHS to RHS and vice versa.

If 5x = 5 , we solve by leaving only x in the LHS and take 5 to RHS to get 5 divided by 5.

Now the new method seems to be dividing both sides by 5! Appears weird! :D

It is shown as 15[SUP]-10[/SUP] which is =5. Hence there is no error there..It is a convoluted way of solving
