While all us modern urban women are screaming women's rights off rooftops and fighting for equality, the harsh truth is that we constitute hardly a bit of the population. Most Indian girls in rural areas and tier II cities, and even some urban areas, continue to be forced into traditional customs and "beliefs" post marriage. Here's the unfortunate truth of a woman's life post marriage in India.

BTW which unmarried girl gets up at 9.10am?
Do girls in India get up so late?

Its not possible becos one needs to be at work by 9am..so how on earth can one get up at 9.10am?

Also being slim before marriage and fat after marriage is optional and not mandatory.

Not all females become fat after marriage.

Being a girl has nothing to do with getting up late.

Many IT professional opt for 1-9pm shift and most do not get up before 9 or 10am.

They opt for it because even if they opt for earlier shift ,they are forced to stay upto 8pm for overseas calls.

So go for next shift and leave by 9pm.

It gives the extra time home

IT firms have changed the lifestyle of all unmarried girls specially.

Their choice of mates has also become more exclusive having only those who understand their professional demands and mindset.

Most ladies after marriage feel they have achieved all once they get a man for marriage and relax becoming careless about appearance and dressing.

Career types who need to groom themselves as a compulsion for workplace try to maintain good appearance and try decent dressing.

Others are mostly hassled with house work ,kids upbringing , shopping for vegetables, power ,water shortages ,lack of partner support . Being a housewife is tougher

than being a career type. Combining the two --two in one types are a disaster....Most would like to imagine that that they are super humans. they become undesirable

entities both in home and office
 

Not only women, everyone is expected to change along with time.

Change in everyone’s life is inevitable.

And the only thing that doesn’t change is 'change' itself.

For girls, marriage brings along with it more responsibilities.

The task of change in role and responsibilities in respect of modern urban girls is more than rural girls IMO.

For rural girls there are lot of advantages like neighbors will be friendly, helpful and life will be more simple but not that much challenging when compared to city girls.

But in respect of modern urban girls, they have to master themselves in multi tasking to meet out all challenges more especially driving as car in City roads which is really becoming hectic task with growing traffic everyday. Dropping children and picking them up at school is becoming a tough job.

They don't have enough time to look after themselves while taking care of other members of the family.

Bringing up children is more challenging. On the other day when I visited a library, I found a young lady asking for more books on bring up children, especially how to improve the relationship with more love and affection, how to teach them lessons and get home work done without punishing them and how to improve their IQ, etc etc.

But in the case of rural mothers they don't pay this much attention, but surprisingly their children also do equally well in all aspects of life.

While rural girls lead a simple life, more urban modern girls adapt to the situation and lead a exciting, thrilling and challenging life.

It is mindset that matters.

That is a wrong mindset to think that one can relax on appearance cos a sloppy appearance mostly leads to a sloppy mind..and then the next step is decline in health..with obesity comes diseases too.

One needs to look good for self more than anyone else.This applies to males too...they need to maintain themselves well too ..no excuses!

When we like what we see in the mirror automatically we get a boost and work better no matter in an office or home.

BTW only those who do not know time management cant manage anything.

Most of us females manage work and home well even without the need of maids.

Those who work smart actually need very little time to complete task at home or at work place.

I prefer to use the word job instead of career..it sounds less imposing.

It is not worth being a career type without a backup home.

It is too taxing more for men than their career oriented wives . These men are a suffering lot.

They are forced to take over roles at home done by ladies earlier.

Career women require supermen as husbands .

All this talk about career types being great time managers is mostly talk and many times a justification for being a career women.

One requires a benevolent husband and an equally non demanding employer like the indian govt to manage job and home well

If it is private sector employment for man and wife, one will have to hang up sooner or later.

Many working couple types start diluting the demands of office work by resorting to working from home facility [another word for bunking periodically] or women getting

pregnant conveniently and having atleast 6 months maternity leave ,then going on leave without pay .

Men coolly vanish on official extended tour sometimes taking wife along and having at least nice weekends in exotic places, [legitimate pleasure with work].

life is made up of compromises . working couples compromise and dilute office work commitments to have a decent life

May the working women who cant manage home ad work wake up at 9am!
If one wakes up before sunrise there is enough time for anything!

I saw one beautiful short tamil film'At least Oru Mutham -tamil short film by iQlik' in you tube about two married IT professionals very much in love whose work life leaves no time for spending time with each other.

When they are forced to communicate more on mobile,online and she wants to convey that she is carrying his child, she is unable to do for two days as the husband is

unable to take her call or communicate and is forced also to go on tour for two days. She starts wondering what both are working and earning so much forwhen they

cannot be together when really needed.

This is the case with most high fliers in ITs and MBAs working in top MNCs.

Most cannot think of giving up the big money that they are making and they end up missing out on the personal front.
