2 Delhi Bikers Robbed 22 Lakhs & Escaped By Throwing Cash In The Air, Bollywood Style

Jul 26, 2015,

NEW DELHI: It has all the elements of a Bollywood flick— action, comedy and drama. Three men on a bike shot at two businessmen outside a bank in Okhla and tried to escape with a bag containing Rs 22 lakh. And when a mob chased them through the streets, the robbers simply took out some notes and threw them at the people. Seeing this, the crowd stopped chasing the trio and some of them began collecting as many notes as possible.

The incident took place around 12pm on Saturday. While the victims, Santosh and Ram Kumar, are recuperating from their bullet wounds, cops are busy looking for the robbers and the people who pocketed a portion of the looted money—about Rs 5 lakh with notes of 1,000 and 500 denominations .

The two traders from Noida had gone to Okhla phase-I in connection with their business. They also went to a Bank of India branch and withdrew around Rs 22 lakh from their current account, police said. As they stepped out of the bank with the bag containing the money, the robbers on a black-colour bike waylaid them. The bike didn't have a number plate on the front. They asked the duo to hand over the bag and threatened to shoot them.

When Santosh and Ram tried to resist the robbers, they opened fire at the duo. One of them suffered an injury on his shoulder, while the other had a minor head injury.

There was chaos as the gunshots led to a crowd build-up in the area. Passersby and locals reached the crime scene and began to chase the robbers on the bike.

As a group of people neared the robbers' bike, one of the pillion riders pulled out some notes and flung them in the air. As shown in the movies, the crowd immediately stopped and began to pick up the currency notes.

The robbers then pulled out some more notes and scattered them on the road even as the rider maintained the speed of the bike. As the group of people got busy collecting notes scattered on the ground, the robbers had disappeared. Those who managed to grab some notes vanished too.

Meanwhile, the police were informed by a passerby and the victims were rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre. Crime and forensic teams collected evidence from the spot. CCTV footage is being examined to identify the people who fled with the money thrown at them by the robbers.

The cops are verifying the movements of all history-sheeters of the area, along with the criminals who came out on bail recently.

DCP (southeast) Mandeep Randhwa said an FIR had been registered under relevant sections. Several teams, including the crime branch, are investigating the case.

Free money is such an attraction.lol

Some years back one gentleman climbed the ITO bridge in delhi and showered paper money-real notes .

He created huge traffic chaos.

It was found ,he had lost mental balance and had done this.

He did not regret what he had done.

When brain become dysfunctional, people do strange things.lol

Mad mad world - people running after money.

Normally it is the god men, politicians and the like try to exploit the public

Now even robbers seems to apply this technique successfully

So long as one has a tendency for greed towards money, he remains a soft target.

For money is such an attraction. lol

Today The Mint came out with an article why india does not produce Billionaires {in dollar terms]. It has remained constant from 2011 with just one addition to 51 in 3 years.

The statistics for the next lower class is equally dismal with no changes at all .

for the lower class of 1million dollars and above except some freak IT cases and some in e commerce there appear to be no large scale increases.

we seem to be worse than most emerging countries including brazil and as bad as indonesia or russia.

as a mindset we disdain money . politicians openly run down industrialists for the benefit of the public and secretly hold their hands for slush money .

Money can be made only if there are economies of scale and thinking big . those who try to aggregate their business or scale up govt frowns on them putting

shackles and controls of various sorts.

foreigners who try to come in we make MAT or ban P notes to drive away some who want to make money by investing.

We glorify bad living as simple living and admire misers and beggars living on govt doles and preaching ethics, morality and religion.

How can india ever become prosperous and rich with these entities being given full support and encouragement?
