Swami Guruparananda

Dear Vivekam, Vairagyam,

You have a name which denotes the two essentials for a mumukshu. The
link you have given is good and gives a lucid commentary. Thanks.

Thanks and regards,
Ranganathan N.R.

thnks for the appreciations ...

this is the msg i got from praveen

"Please refrian from posting the same content across multiple forums and in the wrong forums.

We have a knowledgebase forum for links and resources.

your earlier thread on the same subject was moved there.

posting links in the wrong sections is looked at as spam activity"

wht crap ... who will repost it if i knew the thread had been moved elsewhere and if praveen's genuine concern was spamming he should have sent me a pm after moving the thread or after he saw i had reposted the thread ... there is nothing sensible abt pulling stunts with sweeping statements like the one above and simply closing the thread without letting me have a say ... and again ppl have better jobs than to spam here ... common sense would advice to first contact thru a pm and resolve such differences , not to pull such stunts ....

v v

come on yaar!praveen is a cool guy,to err is human..give him break please.

subject humble pranams to swamiji

Humble pranams to swamiji .... i am going to apologise for a long mail ....

amazing contribution ... esp in the light of his choosing to talk to us in tamil , thereby ensuring that this divine knowledge reaches the maximum number of people , unlike most the people like him who mostly talk only in english and probably take pride in saying that they never do pravachanams in tamil although it may be their mother-tongue , on that score swamiji has shown immense kindness to the common people ... i have taken the liberty to humbly suggest topics for swamiji's consideration for future talks ....

kaivalya navaneetham
aga naanooru
pura naanooru
sri rudram - mahanyasam
sukthams
arunam
sandhya vandhanam
tirukkural and vedic thought
soundaryalahari - sivanandalahari
devi mahatmyam
arunagirinathar's works with respect to vedic thought
thayumanavar's works with respect to vedic thought
thevaram and thiruvachagam with respect to vedic thought
detailed talks on all puranas and ithihasas from an advaitic view point
(although the vedas seem to convey the advaitic thought and although manu wants the ithihasas and puranas to be used for explanation of vedic thoughts , it seems that the tradition has both been lost partly and hijacked partly since
1) most of the vedic/vedantic discussions dont bring in anecdotes from the ithihasas/puranas and vice versa &
2) other schools have hijacked the puranas away from the advaitic view point to suit their narrow "vedantic" perspectives )
talks on all parts of the vedas and its angas and upangas from the advaitic perspective
upadesa saram
upadesa sahasri
gitas other than the bhagavad gita
aditya hrudayam
various manasa pujas
siva aparada kshamapana stotram
various sahasranamas
the hope here is to learn bakthi from an advaitic perspective
although it seems like a big list of requests , i know for sure it is but a drop in the ocean of the knowledge and compassion of swamiji.

i have also added a few urls for your perusal to see if they can be shared with others to enable them to understand our status quo in society today.

The explanations given by Swami Paramarthananda on 'Varna' and 'Asrama' are very enlightening...

It is a must visit for all & helps in shedding any biased notions that one may have...

I must once again thank the individual under the id 'vivekam.vairagyam' for this thread...
:)

swamiji is giving teaching for more than 3 decades in chennai..

his holiness is a disciple of hh dayananda sarawati... who is hailed as teacher of teachers.

our sheer punyams... to receive the teaching from them..

all the best.

poornalayam wesite once again accessible

update : msg received (around india time sat evening 7 30pm)from swamiji's student during my email correspondence with them.

"Poornalayam website is once again accessible now, except for Upanishads and Panchadasi (under Vedantic text) that have been disabled temporarily. There was disruption in service as we had exceeded the space limit for media files. They will be moved to a different location and activated again within a month.

Regards,
Swamiji's student.
