Arrow Prashna Astrology in Horoscope Matching

In predicting the results, Prasna plays an important role. Hence, Prasna is treated as a separate part in Astrology and it was given place in the 5 parts of astrology called, Siddhanta, Hora, Samhita, Sakuna and Prasna. When natal horoscope is available for giving the predictions, what is the necessity of Prasna? Prasna can be used for those persons who are not having natal chart, or the natal chart is not available at the time of approaching the astrologer.

Prasna can be used in the situations where one of the several opportunities is to be selected. For example, selection of one job when there are opportunities for more than one job, selection of one match for a girl or boy when there are more than one match.

Prasna can be used in the case of theft, in identifying the thief, whether the lost property will be recovered or not, in the case of missing persons, in the case of ill health where the doctor is to be changed or the treatment is to be changed and so on.

The Prarabdha karma is denoted by the natal horoscope. The modifications of Prarabdha karma in this birth can change the results and that can be identified by Prasna. The natal chart denotes the position of the Karma phala till the time of birth and the prasna chart indicates the karma phala that was modified after birth till the time of asking the question. If the results in natal horoscope and the prasna horoscope are similar, then the results will be definitely experience.

What is the details of "prasnam"? Is that originates from kerala? I read in most books that Prasna needs "Sozhi". Am I right or simply with the time of the person's arrival, his colour of dress, etc. alone are enough. What is the essential role of "kanya kumari" (young girl) in prasna sasthra???

DIFFERENT METHODS OF PRASNA:
There are different methods of conducting Prasna. Some of the important methods are as follows. (A P S R T C K K G A S V K A P)

A AKSHARA PRASNA LETTERS
P PHALA PUSHPA PRASNA FRUITS & FLOWERS
S SWARA PRASNA BREATHING
R RAMALA PRASNA
T TAMBOOLA PRASNA BETAL LEAFS
C CHESTA PRASNA ACTION
K KUNDALI PRASNA HOROSCOPE
K KAALA PRASNA TIME
G GAVVA PRASNA SHELLS
A ANJANA PRASNA USINF BLACK CARBAN POWDER
S SANKHYA PRASNA NUMBERS
V VAAKYA PRASNA WORD
K KERALA PRASNA ASHTAMANGALA
A ARUDHA PRASNA USING SPECIAL LAGNA
P PANCHAPAKSHI PRASNA 5 BIRDS

SWASA PRASNA OR SWARA PRASNA:
The astrologer has to observe his breathing. The left side breathing is called Ida and right side breathing is called Pingala. Ida Swasa is good on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Pingala Swasa is good on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
When the breathing (Swasa) is favourable, the person will get good health, monetary gains, good food and fructification of desired deeds. When the breathing is not favourable, the person will get adverse results.

CHESTA PRASNA OR TOUCH OF LIMBS:
If the person asks the question while touching his chest, the person will get favourable result immediately. Similarly, if the person asks the question while touching auspicious items, the desired result can be fructified soon.
Naval, nose, face, hair, nails, teeth, secret parts, feet, ring finger are considered to be bad parts of the body. Hence when the person is asking the question he is not supposed to touch these parts.

SANKHYA PRASNA ( Numerical prasna):
The person who approached the astrologer is asked to tell a number below 108. The number 108 represents the total number of navamsas in the chart. The number selected by the person represents the number of navamsa. By dividing the number by 9 the lagna sign can be arrived and by dividing the number by 12, the navamsa lagna can be arrived. The lords of the lagna in rasi chart and navamsa chart should not be enemies. If these two planets are friends or one and the same, the result will be favourable and otherwise the result will be adverse.
This method is useful in selection of one item out of several items, like selection of one job out of several etc.

Will follow..............

Sharmaji,
It was told that from prashna except astamangala, only short term prediction can be made say eg. 2 years or less. Is it true?

TIME OF FRUCTIFICATION:
In Sankhya prasna, the time of fructification can be predicted basing on the Navamsa lagna lord.

SUN 1 AYANA (6 MONTHS) JUPITER 1 MONTH
MOON 1 KHANAM (MUHURTA) VENUS 1 PAKSHAM
MARS 1 DAY SATURN 1 YEAR
MERCURY 1 MONTH

TAMBOOLA PRASNA:
The number of betel leaves, betel nuts, fruits etc., which were brought by the person to the astrologer, are to be counted and totaled. The number is divided by 7 and the reminder is noted. This number denotes the planet starting from Sun to Saturn. The sign occupied by the planet denoted by the reminder is taken as lagna and the chart is studied.

GAVVALA PRASNA:
The astrologer takes 5 shells and throws these shells after praying God, for 5 times. Basing on the position of the shells, the number is counted. This process is repeated for five times. According to the number obtained the results are predicted.

RAMALA PRASNA:
This method is famous in Orissa. In this method 16 wooden pieces of cubical rectangular shape are taken. Each wooden piece will have 4 sides and the four sides are marked with the symbol of a planet. These 16 wooden pieces are fixed in a frame so that the pieces can be rotated freely.
The astrologer, after praying God, rotates these 16 wooden pieces and keeps on ground. Basing on the symbols that are appearing on the upper side the predictions are given.
1,2,3,4 are called the houses of Mother. 5,6,7,8 are called houses of daughters. 9,10,11,12 are called houses of grand children. 13,14,15,16 are called houses of evidences.
13th house is called Ramala Ghata, 14th house is called Ramala Darpana, 15th house is called Ramala Tula and 16th house is called Ramala Jihva.

-----------
Next i will post the qualities, duties of an astrologer.....

What about "ashtamangala". Whether this and thamboola prasna are same??
What is the upasana moorthi for these prasnas? Why am asking this in particular is am seeing in so many ads, people are saying "hanuman upasaka, sastha upasaka, bhagavathy upasaka, even muneeswara upasaka" and all. Iam curious to know actually to which devatha it was bound?

Sri Sharma

I have seen Kerala Namboodhri's Prasnas.

I have seen them predicting the past happenings fairly accurately. I think they have mastered the art of mind reading and past reading.

In one of the conversation between Ramakrishana Paramahamsa (RP) and Swami Vivekananda (SV) the topic about mind reading and past reading is discussed.

RP asks SV whether he wants to know mind reading and past reading. SV asks back what is the benefit of learning it. RP says nothing. Then SV says, he is not interested.

Most of the prasnas followed in Kerala revolves around mind reading and past reading only. When it comes to future predictions, only probability theory works.

After seeing it in Kerala, I stopped going for prasna predictions.

Astrology is totally different subject and I have seen some astrologer's predictions have come true.

Please clarify my doubts in detail.

All the best

Durga... Ashtamangala prashna deals with the Chozhis and they have seperate calculation system.... for which in kerala, there are many techniques right from the beginning of the day, conducting homam, observing omens, etc.... and conducting the prashna using the Chozhis, they use (Swarna Aarudam) for prashna....

That is entirely different.....(Dong dig more.... noting u get) hahahahaha

and RVR Sir....
As i told, In prashna, there are different methods of prediction.....
In total, if u want abt prashna, it is used to find out the past which has happened and we can get the remedial measures....

In Kerala, mainly ashtamangala and swarna aaruda prashna is used for calculating the planetary positions, noting all the events and happenings from the beginning of the day, the astrologer comes from out of the house, reaching the prashna spot, all the movements, sights, omens are noted including the colour, kolam, homam, its aahuthi materials, etc.......

Based on this, they use the chozhis and with a help of a kanyakumari, they place a swarna aaruda...and based on its position, predictions are made for the past and remedial measures are made.....

Thats... In prashna, nobody can go for Future predictions.....

If you are really in need of the methods of Prashna, i can post here... but will take some time....

thanks
