Missing a Masikam?

Status

Sir,
My father passed away two months ago. The monthly masikam falls on
ganesha chathurthi. Our priest told us that we will not be able to
brahmins for the masikam. So you give rice, daal and some vegetables
as dhanam. Is this correct?

Also, Please help me understand what happens in this case. Will my
father and pithru starve for a month.

Also, Please help me understand the significance of masikams
and oona maasikams.

Also, do you know any place where we can do maasikams
if our priest is unable to arrange for brahmins during
festivals. Please advice. I live in bangalore.
If it is far away also please let me know. I dont want to
miss any maasikams.

What your priest adviced you to do is correct. Your father will get this. Regarding details of masikam and oona masikam you please go through my thread anthyesty, Anthim karyams in Rituals, ceremonies and poojas .Everything will be there.shortly one by one.
