Namaskarams to all !

I would like to know that after we perform Navagraha pooja or Navagraha homam with the Navadhanyam and the different colour cloth pieces for the respective grahas, what should we with the dhanyam? Can we cook it and eat it or what ideally should be done? Also what should be done with the cloth pieces ? Can that be given away to someone?

Regards,

RAvi

As far as I know, those things are not your to use. Generally you give it away.

Navagraha Homam if done is very good to the house. Some people do it once in a year.

The Universe as we all know is of 5 elements, ie. Prithvi (Earth), Apaha (Water), Tejas (light),
Vayu (wind or air), Akash (Sky). The functioning of this earth is monitored or controlled by Nine
elements, i.e. Navagrahas. It can be seen from ancient history that our body, home, place of
living is all made of these elements. Nowadays, people have started studying Vasthu before the
constructing the house and identify the places within the house, where to keep the Puja Room, etc.
with the chief aim of good ayush, arogyam and aishwaryam. In order to attain, people
normally do Navagraha Pujas Navagraha pujas are performed with nine types of seeds or dhanyam
on Navagraha Kolam. Some people keep Yantram and do pujas with different colour of cloths,
flowers and at the end nine types of Neivedyams are offered. Some people use nine varieties of
Samith, varieties of mixed rice and different Mantras are chanted according to Navagraha. Adhidevatha,
prathiyathidevatha, parivaradhevatha, and then Dikpalaka pujas are also done. After every thing
is over, the items are handed over to the Sastrigal with Dakshina.

But Some Sastrigals do not chant the entire thing and they start skipping it in

Ghee and other specified Prasadams that have to be offered. At the end, Poornahuthi
has to be done.
